Liquidsense 2.1 help!!!! Flash problems

GOTOCHA -

Honestly it sounds like a Bad Flash ...how big is the File....
Maybe the download Failed,....or was a partial download....has happened to me...

I asked him that already, he downloaded it couple of times, and also downloaded directly from his phone too, if I were him, I would load the RUU again and start from scratch and rooted again.

Hi guys don't know if I should start a new thread or not but I have a problem with the voice mail after flashing liquidsense. I don't have a voice mail :) Any suggestions as to how I should get voice mail working ? The website where I downloaded liquidsense mentioned using android commander but it's not on the market ??? Looking for a quick easy way to get voice mail.

Try using Google Voice, much better, or Youmail ;)

I have absolutely no clue, but that was the reason why I mention not to wipe data and not to do the partition wipe, as I had a couple of issues when moving from one version of AOSP to another and when I would do a full wipe I would get stuck on the splash screen. I am sure there is something he is missing that we are not aware of, we dotted are I's and crossed are T's. When I usually see so many issue like this it is faster to start from the beginning than rather trying to find the source of the problem. IMO as we are not there to see what is on his phone and the exact process he is doing, so it makes it hard on us, not saying is is not doing everything right, but might be missing one simple step. By the time we resolve the issue or find the culprit, he could of RUU his phone, rooted again, and flashed a new R0M

Agreed but the funny thing is, why can he boot up CM6 and nothing else?

Ok. I appreciate all the help all of you are offering up. I'm still trying to flash liquidsense and the reason I'm trying to flash AOSP is b/c CM6 worked. I'm just testing out all senarios here. If 2 of the 3 worked then I'd know Liquidsense was just screwed up. But I'm 1 for 3 here and I'm on andygu3's team in why nothing else works but CM6 does.

My question is are you all assuming that i have already done something prep-wise before flashing, etc that I may not have done at all? USB Debugging, SD partition, etc? Just a reminder that I had never rooted or flashed anything before, so if that stuff is needed then I may or may not being doing it at the right time.

So last night I took the RUU from the Root FAQ and installed it on my phone. Good there. Then I put my copy of z4root(that I had downloaded directly to my phone previously) back on my sd card and installed it with App Installer or something from the Market. z4root just stayed on "Reboot..." forever, like I'm used to seeing, so I hit the back button it appeared to refresh itself. Got the SU and once I downloaded ROM Manager it asked for permission. Flashed CWM, success. Closed ROM Manager, shut down phone, turned on phone in recovery, nandroid, wipe data/fr, wipe cache, wipe dalvik (never an indication that it ever deleted), installed LS from SD card (downloaded directly to phone), reboot, same shizz.

Soooo, now I've RUU'd again and I think I'm punting on z4root and I'm gonna choose something else. What do you think?

I think I found my problem y'all:

"ive seen instances of rom manager creating a bad partition and so flashing rom ends in bootloop"

I've tried to format my SD card in trying to start from scratch and it only shows 1.37gb out of a 2gb card. This HAS to be it.

I could be wrong, but I believe that the parttition thst refers to is on the phone, not the SD card.

But having a corrupt SD card will also cause problems.

how do I get rid of it? My SD card started showing that amount after I did the ROM Manager partition

We COULD be talking about two different things here. I doubt that the apparent reduced capacity of the SD card is causing the bootloop.

And I have not used Rom Manager, so I am unsure what choice you made to change partitions. Hopefully, others that have experience with Rom Manager will be be to assist.

Have tried you tried Mahalo's suggestion?

Try flashing just aospMod 0.9.9.2 and see if the rom boots up.

If it does, turn off phone, boot to recovery and flash the gapps. Then reboot

I'll give that a try, but Liquidsense still doesn't work even after the RUU. Since I found the post about ROM Manager screwing partitions up when using the partition option I remembered that I did the CM6 flash before I screwed around with all of that stuff. However, Liquidsense wasn't working before I did CM6, but anyway.

Some roms may not boot up for some unknown reason. The kernel could be an issue because some phones cannot boot up without a 691 kernel. 768 kernel just gets boot loops:confused:

Maybe you have a bad download of Liquid sense? Perhaps try re-downloading it?

Alright, so I got my SD card situated. I'm back to a fully empty 1.8 gb worth of SD card.

I flashed Liquidsense...no luck...again.
I flashed just AOSP...no luck...so I rebooted and flashed the kernel...no luck.

Just to throw this out there...do you HAVE to download ROM Manager AFTER you root your phone? I've downloaded everything first and then I root. In my mind I wouldn't think this matters, but I'm just throwing it out there.

No that has no issues with downloading it before

I also had problem a while ago with my SD card (8gb) and finally used SD Formatter from the SD Association.
SD Formatter 3.0 (Beta) for SD/SDHC/SDXC - SD Association
My problem was that my SD card didn't show up all the time. After using the SD Association, everything worked. I am using Liquid Sense and like it because it seems to be the most stable ROM I have tried. I had problems (FCs and problems with sync) with AOSP, but it was an earlier ROM and eventually I'll try it again. Also. every few weeks LiquidSense just won't boot. The solution seems to be to clear Dalvik and then it works again.

So were you having similar problems with Liquidsense? What file format did you use?
