What will a month prove that it isn't now.?
I've read rumblings that the SGII in the US will be Tegra 2 based...although I can't seem to find where again. Could be entirely unsubstantiated...and actually, hopefully someone here will come and correct me if they know a bit more concretely one way or another. If it is Tegra 2 based though, that could make a massive difference.
You're not making things up -- there have been such rumors, although my impression was that these would be third-tier markets. In other words, once U.S. distribution ramps up, Samsung may have a shortage of the Exynos SoCs that currently power the SGS2, and they might need to swap in Tegra 2s for the less important markets to pick up the slack. I'm fairly confident in guessing that for the U.S. release, they will be Exynos SoCs.
One of the UK SGS2 guys that seems most credible to me said he'd checked and that the UK and US versions were slated to get the Exynos, but yes, Samsung stated it would get Exynos or Tegra-2 based on region.
