Live wallpaper

I wish there was a way to keep the animated weather going while using the phone. I want it to always be raining on my phone :D.
 
May be a dumb question, but does anyone know if the live wallpapers are an actual .apk package on the N1? If so, wouldn't it be possible to port it over?

I wondered this too. My guess is, give it some time once it's officially released. We will see someone cook something up.
 
Yes, they are an apk. They've been working on porting them to other devices. Don't think they've even thought of doing it for the Eris yet though...
 
Ive tried them last night hoping they would work they acctually have a nexus mod live wallpaper but i think its only for rooted devices cuz it doesnt work on HTC hero or Eris

They didn't think of the Eris when they imported the other stuff from the N1, and they now work on the Eris. Just being hopeful here! :)

Will say though that I had some problems with the gallery on my Eris, when I tried to use it to look for something to put as a wallpaper it kept force closing and wouldn't let me back out of Astro, so I hit home, but every time I tried to get back in Astro it immediately started force closing the gallery and ended up having to uninstall and reinstall the gallery to stop that, ugh. Won't make that mistake again though! :)
 
speaking of the animated weather deal. is that a setting? first time i booted 2.1 i saw it, then never again....

does it have to be cloudy? snowy? etc? or?

need full info on the weather animation.... TIA

It only shows up when you bring your phone out of sleep. And yes, if it's clear and sunny you won't see anything. I've seen snow, rain, and clouds/fog.
 
If it's sunny, you'll get a bleached out display kind of like being blinded by the sun when you're outside.

edit: according to the forecast will see what happens in a couple days where I'm at with rain. Maybe it'll wash everything off the screen at first. LOL

Need to wake phone up and let it sit for a moment(don't touch anything)
 
This is better than the animated wallpapers. It's not too much to slow down your phone, but cool enough that you'll want to see it everytime.
