Hi mjd,

This is a support question, so I have to move it, but I'm guessing no.

I'm sure they would design it to be more efficient than that... I'd give it a try and see how much it drains your battery. Since Live Wallpaper is an app, I believe it would also show up in your battery manager so you can see exactly how much it drains.

I used live wallpapers for awhile, but didn't notice any significant drain on the battery. It would show up in the battery manager but the use was almost always under 5%. It depends on the wallpaper though. If it is interactive and uses the accelerometer, then it uses more, but if it just moves around or is touch interactive, like the Nexus wallpaper in the market, then battery use is minimal.

all i use are live wall papers. Like ekyle said, they don't use much. A memory intensive one might use 5% total. But the vast majority of them, and i have like 20 of them downloaded, use less then 3%. It is not a major battery hog like some would believe. You can make some of them into one if you tweak it from stock settings and quadruple the effects and such. But if you leave it at the stock settings or just above, you won't notice any extra loss.
