Help Lock Screen

Very minor issues but who actually likes the lock screen?

I have 2 issues with it so far..... The first is that you can't just flick it out the way as it just bounces back. A little annoying as an unlock should be a very quick and simple task.

The 2nd is that i find it takes a while to register the swype. I can move my finger across the screen maybe an inch before it actually acknowledges the gesture. Is anyone else having this issue?

It all just seems a little rushed?
 
I agree that it is not as easy to swype it away as I would have liked, however I've now got used to just swyping it off the edge of the screen and that's it done.

I haven't had an issue whereby it takes movement of an inch for it to register, mine would maybe be 0.5cm max before it starts moving
 
"swype"? Don't you mean swipe? Swype is the keyboard.

... and yes, it is annoying, both ugly and awkward. I use the pattern unlock just because it is handier, with a pattern that is easy to swipe while holding the phone.
 
Does Widgetlocker work without root? I knew there were lock screen replacers, but I'd assumed root would be needed.

It's a shame WidgetLocker isn't free, I don't fancy shelling out without checking it out. I want my 24 hour return!
 
I already tried widget locker after being impressed with it on my previous mobile. There is one major flaw with it at the moment though in the fact that you can just bypass the lock by pressing the home key, even with the option to do so turned off.

Great app though and im sure they are working on a fix
 
Instead of starting a new thread regarding the Lock Screen I thought it would be better to just ask in here.

Has anyone found a way to change the applications that the sliders are linked to? For instance the chances of me getting a missed call are slim so I would rather have a shortcut to Gmail.

On a similar note, if I was to install Go SMS then could I change the SMS slider to link to Go SMS as opposed to the stock messaging app?

That functionality is part of Widget Locker (available in the market)
 
Sorry I probably should have mentioned that I already have Widget Locker but in trying to keep the stock lockscreen I wondered if it had the same functionality as WL.

I'm quite a fan of the 'swipe the screen away to unlock' but I don't remember WL having this type of layout.
