Root Lock Screen

That sounds like a rom specific feature. I can't say I've seen that before on this phone.
On my old phone, the OG EVO, I ran a rom that let me disable the lockscreenlockscreen and the pin. So anytime I turned the phone on, I was at my home screen. There was a bug though. Every now and then, it would re-enable. I think this was on MikG perhaps.

There is an option in Lee droid for something like that.
I'm presuming I can do the LeeDroid Tweak with just root? I don't have a custom ROM or anything.
I believe that changes from the Sense lockscreen to the AOSP version but doesn't allow bypassing it completely. However, the AOSP lockscreen includes the security so that might work for what you want except you have to be rooted to use it with a Sense ROM. If you are rooted you could also delete or rename the HtcLockScreen.apk in the /system/app directory and that will give you the AOSP lock screen without having to install Leedroid Tweaks.

Edit: NVM. I just tried the AOSP lock screen on a Sense 3.6 ROM and you still have to slide to unlock before getting the security option selected. I think that was changed in the JB version.

You can try No Lock from the Play Store but I think it may bypass the security too.

If you are on stock ROM, you should be able to go into settings, then lock screen style, and choose no lock screen. This should keep your security and bypass the ring pull. I cant test myself, so I hope that works for you.
