I am looking for some nice icon packs for social features and what not.

i would recommend that you try this out:
Desktop VisualizeR

you can use that to create any kind of icon you want. couple that with a launcher like go launcher or launcher pro you can even do this:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/322488-super-mario-bros-theme.html

You can also just do a search on google for something like 3D Icons. A lot of them are for the computer but I use plenty of them on my phone. They work out real nice.

Yinz are really going to shame me into finishing the theme right.

If you check into the thread I made for the mario theme that Ocn posted, or in my signature, I posted instructions on how to make the look I achieved.
Desktop visualizer or folder organizer can be used to swap out the homescreen icons without a 3rd party launcher like Launcher Pro or Go Launcher. Once you get the hang of it, it's not really that bad. The hard part is finding the icons or images, or flat out making them yourself! Thats the time consuming part.
