Root looking for modded Playstore apk with DPI fix for GB

I changed my Evo's DPI setting awhile back to 200 DPI. One problem with doing so is the Playstore not letting you download many apps.

I used the LCD Modder app (available from the Playstore) which has a modded Playstore app which does fix the problem.

Unfortunately, the modded Playstore it provides is incredibly out of date.

I know there are up to date DPI modded Playstore apks for jellybean. I need one for Gingerbread (I use wimax regularly) .

Anyone know of an up to date DPI modded Playstore apk? And if you do, how would I install it?

sorry there i have not found any such play store apk. not really sure what you can do to be honest. i checked xda and nothing there.....sorry:(

Thanks anyway. I did find this though...
Set Custom DPI without losing Play Store app Compatibility [Android]

Looks like someone created a fix. Unfortunately, I don't have a PC to use the fix.

I'm hoping to borrow a friend's computer. Any idea where I'd find the USB drivers for the Evo 4g?

well here is the one i have in the dummies guide: setup_3.0.5551.exe

if you want the latest you will need to go to htc's site and download the latest htc sync. for the current drivers.

Thanks! Im a noob when it comes to PC stuff. I no longer own a computer, my Evo 4g is what I use for all my computer needs (and more).

Will I be able to sync when not using a sense ROM?

Sync what?
All that you need HTC sync for, is the drivers. Is that what you are referring to? :)

yes, but you do not need htc sync. you just need the drivers that come with it. just download and install htc sync to the pc and you can then uninstall sync, but keep the drivers. after that you should be good to go to try the fix you linked to earlier.
