Looking for simple root, (no custom kernel) FL24

Hey All,

I'm looking for a very simple root for my Samsung Galaxy S2. I'm don't really want to use a custom kernel or rom on the device. I just want root so I can run some root apps on it. (Example Titanium Backup). Nothing fancy really.. I don't mind running stock to be honest. Mostly because half the time things don't work properly on custom kernels or they are bugged out. Like 4g, modems issues, MMS over wifi/3g, etc...

However, most of the guides I've seen here are ONLY for custom kernels and roms. Is there no way to root the FL24 update of the phone (I got the phone with this update on it already since it's brand spanking new) without having to flash to a custom kernel?

I found this post but I'm not entirely sure about it. It sounds like stock with just root. Though I believe it's using a custom kernel.

[ROM][ODIN][TAR][ICS] SPH-D710 FL24 (FL24 Modem/Kernel/ROM - Root/Stock)

Any help would be great!

Sorry bud if you weren't on FL24 there would have been a root only you could have used. But fl24 patched the exploit.

Only root for u would be a custom kernel because the objective is flashing suoeruser zip. Problem is our recoveries are in the kernel there fore you'd need a kernel you could flash SU through recovery

Ahh. proven wrong:(

Well good for him

Yeah, but how long before they plug that? If mobile Odin pro supports the Boost ROM you can use it without having to do some build.prop editing, but still no CWM/AGAT.

If all your wanting is root in order to use an app like Titanium Backup or Droid wall, then this is a good option.

By "this" I mean the app I linked to in post #4

Well if mobile odin pro gets supported for boost Rom they can't use it to root because mobile odin requires root but it will allow those without computers to get a custom recovery after they use this root method. So that's a plus

I'm sure someone of these guys can attest to this, I thought the same, no custom anything just run on stock. But now that I'm running custom ROM, actually it's a modified stock JB, I asked myself why I didn't do it soon! :D
