I'm trying to find a smaller option for my 15" notebook computer, which I am tired of carrying around to find wi-fi hot spots. (No wi-fi is available, too rural).
I recently bought a 7" tablet but it seems kind of large and awkward to hold onto.
I'll keep trying it out for my 30 days but now I'm seriously considering getting an even smaller tablet around the 4.3" screen size and returning the 7". I've measured them out and I think I'd really prefer a lighter smaller design. It would also be nice to have a truly portable pocket sized device (a smartphone is not an option, signalwise and pricewise)
I'm thinking the tablet will primarily be used for eReading and downloading larger files from hot spots for later transfer to the notebook. The 7" screen just seems to be too bright, especially when reading ebooks..like there's just too much light with the contrast bothering my eyes.
There are a few very reasonably priced 4.3" tablets out there now. Mixed reviews, of course. I'm thinking it might be worth a try for under $50 or $60.
I'm just wondering if I'm crazy for not liking the already smallish 7" screen size in favor of a more smartphone size 4.3" screen. I've never used a smartphone so I'm not sure of what they can or cannot do.
I wouldn't be using the tablet in wi-fi capacity more than a couple times a week. Like I mentioned, I'm looking to find a part time substitute for hauling the notebook around.
Thanks.
