has anyone tried that lookout app for locking your phone, wiping it and finding it? I just installed it out of curiosity and it sure did find my phone and it also sent the scream to my phone and also i locked myself out of it to test it. Is any of this actually useful? Can anybody just get around the lockout? I did the free version but theres a free trial for the full version, it costs 29.99 a year, not sure i want to pay that but are there any apps taht have the remote lock for free?

Yes it is very useful. Once I lost my phone and couldn't find it anywhere. I went online and looked for it and it was displaying that it was in front of of my house. So I thought the app wasn't working. I made it scream and I couldn't hear it. So I went outside to check the car and sure it was there all along stuck between the seats. And I was going to buy a new one, and I guess the app saved me some $150. I used the free version. The Premium would be useful if you are very active and go to lots of places were theres a lot of people. If you couldn't reset your phone from your computer, then people could use your Google Checkout account to make purchases. But you can always disable your Google Checkout account. This app will not be as useful when the Ascend gets the Android 2.2 update as remote wipe is built into Android 2.2.

hmmm...that's interesting and useful information. I lost my phone once...not this one but another and felt very lucky that someone found it and was able to contact me. I KNOW I don't want to lose this phone. ;)

I installed it and then i googled and got worried with what they were doing with all the info i was uploading so i uninstalled but i jsut reinstalled it again. does it drain your battery a lot?
