Help Loose Camera Button

OK gals and guys - what's your thought on the camera button?

My initial impression? At first use, I thought it was great. Stood in Radio Shack and took picture after picture. Then, as I put the phone down, I noticed something snagged my hand. I picked the phone back up and looked at the bottom as I thought there was a sharp edge that hooked me. Nope! It was the camera button...lol. It seems everytime the phone is resting in my right palm, it's snagging my hand. I wouldnt be that worried about it, but the button is loose and I'm worried I'm going to rip it out of the socket!

Hate it. Its my biggest gripe, and I may reluctantly give up on the Evo 3D because of it. Mine is not loose, nor overly sharp, but very, very annoying.

When I got back in my truck and put the phone down....i thought the exact same thing. "i might have to sell this baby on Ebay because if the camera button".

I love the phone, but I'm going to keep a close eye on the button over the next few days.

This problem can be eliminated with a case. My otterbox hides the button from ever snagging you.

phone is naked currently . i snapped about 20 images yesterdsy and the csmera button for me is a nice feature . the hardware button is welcomed for me.

I have a naked 3d, no camera button problems so far. I was worried that I might accidentally activate the camera with it. That only happened once, in the first hour with the phone, and I don't think it will be a problem. For the camera button to snag on stuff hasn't had even a hint of being a problem for me.

You know guys, flip phones dont have camera buttons - there are plenty of those available. I currently have a mint condition Hero for sale. First $50 can have it....please no rushing.....

I felt the sharpness too. not sharp enough to cut (not even close) but definitely abrasive that it tugs at you a bit if your hand rubs it.

they definitely could have lathed the edge a bit rounder.

but... i got used to it pretty quickly. and today, I decided to pick up an otterbox commuter case, so now the entire button is wrapped in silicone.

Don't get me wrong, I love that there is a button. Its great to quickly get to camera app, I've missed a lot of photos having to unlock screen, start app, etc. My issue is with its placement. It would have been almost as effective on the bottom of the body than on the side (and possibly help with vibration since it could be absorbed across the length rather than width), and it certainly could have been smaller and less protruding than it is.

I like the camera button. Disclaimer: I have yet to take a picture, but I like the idea of having a button to press, especially a dual-stage button. I've been playing with my 3vo all afternoon and the placement hasn't bothered me at all. But who knows, maybe now that I'm thinking about it it'll start to bug me :p

Anyone else had the experience of the 2D-#d switch being kind of wobbly on the 3D side?

Ok, now that I've had time to play and shave with it, I'm liking it much better :).

I'm going to be picking up an Otterbox a most have suggested.

on mine, the 2d/3d toggle is a little loose in 3d mode.

I love the addition of the camera button! I shot over 100 pictures yesterday at the Pride parade with it. The new location really makes taking pictures easier. Tapping on a screen icon with the 4G was just too much of a hassle. Also, my 3D is naked and I have no snags to report.

Love the button. First device that I will take pictures with on a regular basis, because I can, and it's easier to access. I could buy a phone that doesn't have one, or put tape over it (a case). I keep mine naked.

i love it. It's the best thing, ever. I actually use this as a camera now. IMO, taking pictures without a dedicated camera button is a HUGE pain.

After using the phone for about 5 days this is my biggest problem with the phone.

There is no doubt that the 2d/3d switch will last more then a year. Its very loose just after 5 days.

new evo 3d user as of today with questions!!! help pleae :)
okay so i got my evo today from asurion they sent me a 3d cause they were out of regular evo4g .. it came brand new!! very exited only thing is camera button is loose should i call the insurance i just don't want them to send me a refurbished one this time help any opinion would be great!

Shutter or the selector?

The selector is loose but it's not an issue as I believe that most if not all 3vos are this way. If its the shutter (round) one you really only use it for taking 3d shots as the cameras need to be horizontal for best picture quality.

Hello and welcome to Android Forum. Take it to a Sprint store and they will fix it. At least they are capable of doing that.

Thanks for joining the community.

I've never had such luck. Congrats! :):)
