losing interest in the EVO 3D

The $10 applies to all smartphone plans anyway - and I guess it'd have to be assessed for plan. Still - 50 smackers for a Sprint noob = skimmin cream off the top. Take that iPhone 3gs/at&t!

The thing about no information is...they don't have to provide us with any information. Sure, it'd be completely unprecedented to release a phone without any notice. But I'm starting to look at it like this: They hyped the phone a little back in March or whenever. I'm sure they can check the pulse by reading forums and such...people want this phone and somewhat expect it in early-mid June. What if their new marketing strategy is to just release it without announcing the release date?

If you saw an ad today, right now, that said EVO 3D is released and available now, what would you do? Run to the store to buy it? I thought so. Even if you had a pre-order and a unit was held to the side for you and you could pick it up anytime you wanted, would you still go immediately?

Could this theory be complete crap? Yeah. But with so many dates being thrown around and no official information, my optimism wants me to believe this.

I hate to sound all negative and doom and gloom about it, but that is how I think it will play out. HTC will "review" the policy and probably stay the course anyway.[/QUOTE]

I bet you wish you can recant that statement! The power of people can really influence a company. (In the 70 & 80 protest) were just doing it digitally!

I'd probably run to the store and try it out. Chances are I wouldn't be beating any rush by buying it ASAP.

I'll call it now, most threatening to commit harakiri if they don't get a release date right now probably won't get an Evo3D at all.

Release date will be announced, and they will have an excuse...

Actual release will come and go, and they will still have an excuse...

Furthermore, you just know there is a demographic that is wrist cutting because they are right in the middle of their Evo contract. They will have to eat full price on the Evo3D, which of course makes the Evo3D a questionable product, and Sprint's the devil, so better to shout from the sidelines and rain on everyone else's parade...

The apparence of the EVO 3D is what i'm not feeling. But most likely I will stop by my local sprint store and check the phone out.

First off... I have a full upgrade chief... I am not worried about that pal... I have the right to express my opinion... Once I hear a release date buddy... I do intend on buying the phone... I already pre ordered it at BestBuy 3 weeks ago... So before you go on slamming people... Get ya facts right guy... We just want a release date from Sprint, thats all, got that?

You sound fairly offensive...I'm not sure anyone was talking to you directly...the only two posts I have seen from you in here have been along the lines of "I don't plan on rooting my phone" and "I'm beginning to lose interest," so I don't understand how or why he is directly talking to you.

If you plan on getting the phone still, great, then you are one of the ones that do not fall under the category of his reasons as to why others may no longer be getting the phone. No reason to get at his throat, no one is attacking your opinion.

This is pretty random, imo. There are four - count 'em, four - mods following threads here and whenever we see any slamming, we infract and/or ban.

So - I'm not sure who this is directed to, it's just not obvious. If you want to discuss it, just send me a PM.

Otherwise, let's stick to just attacking issues instead of each other.

Goes for everyone - choices are choices, let's all respect everyone has a perfect right to theirs.

Sorry Sprint, but you guys suck at these types of things. I've already lost interest in the EVO 3D. I'm going to see what other phones are coming in the next couple of months. My contract is up so I will explore my options. Sprint needs a new marketing team.

You mean the much more expensive carrier options? Have fun with that...

Asus is releasing a new phone tomorrow and at this rate will have it on the shelves before htc evo 3d.

No 3d and an option to have a full tablet. I am sorry, if they would have released evo 3d last week, I would have grabbed it, with no regrets. But given that there might be a chance with the asus phone/tablet before getting the htc evo 3d, they are just screwing themselves at this point.

ASUS is releasing a new 4G phone on Sprint tomorrow? Who knew?

And ASUS is doing such a bang up job with the Transformer that they can be trusted to do a phone tablet right?

In case anyone was curious...Not something I would want, but to each is own

I rather wait for the E3D:

1) No Android

2) No specs or prices that I've seen.

3) No carrier is listed, that I've seen.

Why do people have to tell the world they are going to get another phone if the 3D doesn't release by a certain date. Don't tell the forum world, just do it. Most of us plan to wait on the phone no matter what. A big boy or girl can select their own cell just like everyone doesn't need reassurance when they need to go to the potty. I don't tell the forum world, I just do it....LOL

If I were to guess, I would say that the reason is because the poster may be hoping that HTC/Sprint reads these posts. If they see enough folks who are flat out fed up, they might just do something to keep would be buyers from bailing.....

Well I actually own the transformer, and it is really solid tablet.

The Transformer being "a solid tablet" is completely irrelevant if your supply chain management is so god-awful that you can't support a national product roll-out in the United States.

What's someone supposed to do if something is wrong with their phone? Wait 2 months for a replacement because ASUS is only capable of producing 50 a month?

If the tablet played the role of a phone and didn't have a removable phone I would lose interest in the E3D immediately...I'd much rather have a table than a phone, but not both. Give me a tablet with a Bluetooth ear piece for calls and that would be golden.

well I flashed a AOSP ROM today to see how i would like it and wow am I impressed!!! it's so smooth, clean, and fast! I have decided i no longer want the EVO 3D. I went ahead and purchased the Nexus S 4g just moments ago and here's why:

nexus s 4g for only $99
Pure Google experience
No bloatware
better battery
Better dev support
16gb internal memory!
NFC Chip
Google voice integration(i use voice alot for international calls and giving my voice # to girls i dont want having my real number lol)
free wifi tether
Google updates!

I'm sure by end of year nexus s will be running ice cream software while the 3d will still be on 2.3, just like our evo's are still on 2.2. I just don't see a 3d screen and dual core a big enough reason to ignore the above benefits of the Nexus S 4g. Plus what's the point of Dual Core if you don't have the software that supports full use of the 2nd core? Pluse I'm not much of a gamer and I don't many users even notice a difference. I think I'm happy with my purchase. and when i sell my evo i'd have made money on an upgrade instead of spending probably $200 to buy the evo 3d.

Speaking of ASUS, the Eee Pad MeMO does look slick, and I do hope it drops on Sprint as an Evo View 3D tablet companion to the Evo3D

7" 3D IPS screen (1280x800)
Honeycomb
1G RAM, 32G storage
Dual core Qualcomm
USB
Micro SD
Capacitive Stylus
Bluetooth companion handset, which acts as the "phone"
10hrs battery life

Since it is a Q4 release ASUS should have their supply issues sorted by then.

As for the Padfone, it's still a concept from the looks, however, based upon the concept, it could be a very innovative product depending on the execution. If this is the way Ice Cream Sandwich brings it all together, I'm all for it, especially if on top of the phone, tablet, and bluetooth headset, it docks with the Transformer keyboard. That wouldn't just be innovative, it would be industry shattering and revolutionary.

Anyway, back to the Evo3D...In case anyone was wondering, you can't buy it yet :)
