Help Loss of network after a call

nfpotter

Lurker
I have had an S2 Skyrocket for a couple months now.

Sometimes (seemingly randomly) after I hang up on a call, I can't make another for 30-60 seconds. I have 3-5 gray bars (signal strength?), but the 4G icon won't appear in the notification area for 30-60 seconds, and if I try to make a call, it says something like "network unavailable".

This is REALLY annoying. I mean, what if there was an emergency!

Does anyone know why this happens, and if there's a cure? Any help greatly appreciated!

PS - I am not in a 4G market.

Not being in a 4g market makes no difference. It is a 4g phone and it changes radios briefly after making a call. During that time the phone will lose all connectivity for brief periods.

Out of curiosity, has your plan been provisioned by ATT for data in the market you are in, or did they just throw your sim in there and send you on your way?

The radio swap that takes place should only take approx 15-20 seconds per the manual and online documentation

I BELIEVE it was provisioned correctly. How can I tell? And is there a way to disable 4G, so it only uses 3G? Would I want to, or would that be a bad thing?

Also, if it changes radios after every call, why does my problem only happen SOME of the time?

Thanks for your help!

I posted on this similar issue too. I have the no signal icon for about 15 sec after I hang up on call. Do lose internet as well. I don't have lte here but always have the 4g icon. It bothered me for a while but I got used to it.
