Did you try plan b? You install from pc (by logging into market with Google account) it will push to the phone and run automatically (well it would have before you suspended service :rolleyes: ) but again, Sry for your loss bro. Idk what would happen if someone stole MY precious :( some people are just pathetic... Can't afford their own, and/or are too stupid to 'fix' it even if they did manage to muster up the ~$100 dollars to get their own... I truly feel your pain... I have had 3 previous boost phones stolen from me in various places in the country (all on the east coast :-/... Not hatin, just saying...)
 
Yeah I installed it from PC and it told me to wait and I should get a Email with location, than I should be able to txt it and get the location that way... no go on either... Cerberus too.

I think they have to have the phone on for it to do anything... Maybe they Soft bricked it already...:D:D

it probably wont give you a location because boost deactivated the phone. you could try calling boost and tell them to activate it for a few hours and then try it again and see if you get a location.

also make sure you change any passwords that you used to log in to any aps like facebook, email, etc and change your gmail password.

No I ran pan b for six hours before I figured it was worse I wasn't reporting the theft... I chose the lesser of two... Thank you for the advice but last time I called my phone the thing had finally been turned off.. Like straight to VM... Its a goner... :mad:
 
Well whatever happens next. As long as you do not remove the phone from your account it is effectively dead. They cannot call up Boost and activate the phone as it is already active on your account! Which brings us to the predicament that what happens to you! I mean you will eventually get another and put it on your account and that moves the Prevail out of your account. Correct?

Here's my suggestion. Keep the Prevail active on your account. When you get another phone activate it. But before you activate it, jot down (or cut & paste) the meid of the device on your account. Meaning the meid of your stolen Prevail.

As soon as you swap out the phone on your account your Prevail will become a free agent and can be activated. So block that! How? Start up another account with the meid that you jotted down. Doesn't matter what name or address you put into the account. Anything. You do not have to put money into it. The site will say that since its a previously activated phone you'll have to pay a $10 reactivation fee... Sure no problem. When they ask for money just say you'll pay later.

Account set up? Great. The Prevail is useless for another 90 days! No money spent!

Actually the sooner you do that the better. Right now the MDN and account information match. After you swap the device on your account they wont match any more. So currently they can call up Boost and say they "forgot" the pin. Boost will send the pin to the device and they've effectively hijacked your account!

Once the MDN and the account information doesn't match its going to get more complicated. PS: I hope they're not reading this forum! They can request the pin as much as they want the pin is going to go to the device on the account and not the stolen Prevail!

Also while setting up the account you can request a phone number from another state. That way if they somehow do get the Prevail active and into their account they'll be stuck with a number from another state. Is it a deal breaker? Probably not but just another thorn in their side. At the very least they'll have to pay to get their phone number changed.

Actually. I've got another idea. Something along the lines of what I've put out above... But I'll PM you about that. Don't want to post it in the open forum.

You mentioned you know who stole your phone. Id be straight pi**t off. Im not suggesting violence. But Id at least tell that cowardly bumb that you know it was him.
 
You can pick up a used Prevail on eBay for $40-60 shipped. If you know who it is I would suggest violence. It may not get your phone back, but it will feel great beating his ass. Even if you can't fight just walk up behind him and cheap shot him. When he starts to turn around punch him in the meaty part of his nose. He'll be blind for a few seconds and just unload on him. Word will get around, and nobody will even think about stealing your shit again.
 
well, for advice I would recommend reporting your phone lost/stolen to boost, they will put a hold on your account to keep it from being hijacked. Change PIN too just in case they already have it. after you get another boost phone if is done before you account cancels, boost will refund your money for the lost days that your phone was off. if you get a already used phone and add it to your account you won't have to pay a reactivation fee.
 
I've got a fairly nice motorola I1 that i've been using as a coaster, Its still on android 1.5, its un-rootable, its running on the iden network, and its slower than frozen molasses. It doesn't even have a proper headphone jack, so you can't use it as an MP3 player. I'd give it to you, but then i would not have a coaster. Also, its completely broken and won't power up

But hey, when i bought it, i got a free 8gb SD card which currently resides in my nephew's galaxy player. So, thats good, i guess.

If I were to say anything (now) I might cause problems between his family, I will wait for the sweet release of COLD REVENGE!! I believe that through a shear cold heart and some devious indignation I can rest for now...

Hey Wetbiker and Guspeed Have gotten me a temp. phone to work with, Its in the mail as we speek... Thanks go out to Koloses for helping me switch out my meid, (for security).

Plus my fiancee doesint seem to mind helping out with a (Cheep) replacement prevail!! So here soon I might end up being able to send the replacement back, If Guspeed even wants it back.lol

Unfortunately, Biker I think the metal ones are illegal in California. But you do get a nice sound off of wood.

Of course, violence is rarely the answer and sound like the criminal is female. Sorry you had to go through this Dais, but it seems to be working out after all.

And I DO believe that what goes around comes around. Eventually.

I follow the "lets see how I feel in a year" method for revenge. Meaning Ill chill for now, and if in a year it still bothers me, revenge is coming.

2 stories/examples. When I was 19, a good friend of mines brother broke into my house, stole 99cds out of my 100disc player and my N64 with about 20games. I called the cops but they couldnt find him. That was hard doing cause Im no run to cops and snitch person. Now 2yrs later, a friend of his stopped over and was like "I gotta show you something funny". It was a videotape of the news with a story on the little thief stealing the Ronald McDonald donation boxes from the front counter of MickeyDS. Guess who called the cops the next week and told them who it was.....THIS GUY! He was caught and sentenced to 10yrs for that theft and a bunch of other crimes.

2nd example, the 1st place my wife and I lived at we had this supposed super christian neighbor. Even though she knew my wife and I went to church every week, she would always be preaching to us. Well my dog would always bark at her. One day after letting my dog outside I heard her barking, looked out the window, and seen something come flying into the yard. Went outside to see, and it was a snausage dog treat with about 3 different pills shoved inside. I confronted her, and she denied it. A year later after we moved, I went back to her house in the middle of the night, and sprayed 4bottles of grass killer on her lawn in the shape of a pentagram. 2weeks later went back and there it was, a big ass satanic symbol on that lying, attempted dog killing witches lawn.:congrats:
