Love my S2 but what to go for next?

Hi All,

I've had my S2 now for a long time.. over a year, which is a long time for me.

I've rooted it, added a few apps for me. It all seems to just work very nicely. BUT.. always a but..

I'm now a little bored.. fancy a change and not sure what too.
Here are my absolute.. won't drop them requirements of a phone:

1. Screen has to be as good if not better than the S2..
2. Real estate of the screen.. not so important for me but ideally would like a similar size
3. Exchange integration is key.. I use my phone for work and travel the world.. so this is a big MUST work
4. Battery life. Although the S2 isn't great, it's still OK.. I manage a day on average and tend to charge each night
5. A good video player.. I use this function a lot. The S2 has never let me down yet.. I can throw any file format at it and it copes.
6. SD card expandable memory
7. Removable battery or one that last about 1.5days
8. Bluetooth that will connect to my in car bluetooth. (BMW)
9. Of course.. makes good phone calls.. (unfortunately, a weak point on the S2)

===================

Things I don't like about the S2 / andriod
1. The keypad entry.. It's terrible. Yes I've tried lots of different ones, yes I've tried swype.. When I pick up an iphone and use that, the keypad entry is just so much better.
2. Phone call quality is poor (Using O2 uk)
3. Bluetooth connectivity to the BMW unit is poor. Everyone says it's quite and they can hear themselves when they talk. No other phone I use does this in the same car

So.. which operating system and phone would you people pick next

You could try the Nexus? It's very similar to the SII, but has a standard version of android and has some nice little animations and stuff. I'd defo stick with Android tho, I use iPhones/iPads at work, but still prefer my SII.

I won't get a Nexus because it has no expandability. I will keep my S2 until the S3 or something comparable comes along. I like the keyboard in the new Droid 4 but if it is only available on Verizon, then that won't work for most of us.

Something with NFC capabilities...trust me it's gunna be huge in the future. The convenience of it is brilliant. :)

They're going to push NFC propaganda heavily during london olympics. I disapprove.

SIII is a fair way off. I see the international one shipping August, July if we're lucky.

The only slightly bad thing that is obvious to me with the S2 is the lack of imagination with software/touchwiz or whatever vs. what the hardware can do, it's capable of all manner of flashy 3d transitions between screens but you really have to root, find and download all this stuff yourself to build yourself a real wow factor phone.

For keypad entry, why not try 8pen, there's nothing else like it, it appears daunting at first but I'm very fast with it now, just the occasional J, Z and X stump me and I have to look around for it, I use portrait mode.

What? I haven't heard anything.

Google wallet is more secure than a credit/debit card if anything because you can't actually see the account details like you can on a physical card.

New phones will be released soon enough. just enjoy what you have for now because the S2 is still pretty damn good.

I can't see anything topping the S2 right now. Even the iphone 4s falls short IMHO. The two phones that could change this are, as others have said, the iphone 5 and the S3(which will be my next phone) which is rumoured to have a min 1.5Ghz dual or quad core, better battery life, a 12 megapixel camera and of course ICS.
