Root M130 Rooted!

SuperSU works with different su binary other than previously superuser app.
With this guide from Tommytopdrive, the su binary you pushed to your system works only for superuser app.
in this case,if you'd like using superSu instead of superuser , you need root permission from superuser app 1st,to make SuperSU works for your device.
Don't worry , SuperSU can take over the superuser role by default,no need to uninstall superuser app, in case as a backup if the SuperSU hangup after updating it su binary.
i fully recomend to install GNM Recovery,so you can do nandroid backup and re-root you device using GNM Recovery root installer to make it more persistent root access.

I thought I was finally rooted. checking with adb verifies rwsr-sr-x on the "su" row. BUT Root Checker says "Sorry! This device does not have proper root access." what would fool the su into thinking I have access?

check with the superuser app to make sure the permissions of the su file aren't in red. i remember the same problem. I had to fix the permissions of the file.

Don't Copy either
you will have to flash it or you'll lose you root. I make sure you have a back nadroid

he is talking about doing it the method completly from the phone. you do NOT need adb AT ALL for the root process. you just have to go back to the int.qcom.sdio.sh file and chmod the su file correctly. no adb or flashing needed.

good info. i personally did not know about the superSU program. I just used superuser. Honestly, the easiest way to root is just doing it from the phone completely. You can check permissions in the superuser app anyway. that is how i did it. Also, i found that if you put your (or mine) ORIGINAL init.qcom.sdio.sh file the wifi problem goes away. to be honest iv'e never had that problem since i did that right after i rooted.

Would ROM Manager from CWM be a simple and reliable way to backup my freshly rooted m130 before I clean house?

got it!

Question was regarding the rooting M130...if you deleted the original script...
chmod 0777 /system
chmod 0777 /system/bin
and then added...

chown root.root /system/bin/su
chmod 06755 /system/bin/su

But the original instructions say to add the later below the former.
Thanks!

i have done exactly what was stated in post 1, 10 times now, and mult ways
chmod 0777 /system
chmod 0777 /system/bin

and
(space)
chmod 0777 /system
chmod 0777 /system/bin
(space)

and both inputted it my self and copy and pasted the text in then saved and added 1 and saved and removed the 1 and saved, rebooted and still can't get /bin folder writable...and wifi is off. any thoughts

So superuser isn't asking for permission any more. It hasn't since I first successfully rooted and installed it. Apps still run but it hasn't popped up a toast or anything. Its not set to automatically give permission.

I think its because under the GNM Recovery I decided to choose 'install user & su' which breaks root. 'superuser (unguarded)' will recover root but seems to give full permission to anything?

Is there any way to undo that? Even having done a few NAND restores it doesn't seem to have given the rights back to superuser.

edit:

Flashed superuser through GNM & its working again.

So I decided to try and change the font for some reason through ROM Toolbox Pro.

The font took, but when I run Root Checker it says that it isn't rooted.

I just checked su and its RWXRWXRWX. Superuser keeps saying its granting permission but if I try to do anything that requires root, it doesn't take or act in anyway.

Because it doesn't seem to be rooted, I can't launch the recovery. The phone still works, but its just totally unrooted.

Any ideas?

edit:

I think it has something to do with KAK or v6SuperCharger. I stopped the script @ boot and immediately Superuser asked me for permission. Font is still in place.

I'm using the same kak 3g turbo and v6 SuperCharger the issue seems to be your su permissions and the chmod. look at the first post again

I've pretty much got it memorized :p

But you were defo right, got KAK, SuperCharger & Turbo running again and just changed the fonts with no issue.

I think it was because I didn't remove the lines from the qcom file. Removed them, sh1, remove that. It must've been replacing it with the backup file, removing the 06755 and killing root.

I noticed that by using a different power widget, the wifi doesn't act up at all. I'm using Power Widget Lite but I'm guessing any other may work the same.

1st check the ownership and permission of /etc/init.qcom.sdio.sh , is there any file has name /etc/init.qcom.sdio.sh.bak ??

2nd check /system and /system/bin ownership and permission. if it 777 or -rwxrwxrwx then you succeeds or else you fail.

Wifi problem comes with the edited sript , there's solution here in this thread and been asked many times , you can search here.

I noticed my wifi acting up I have to reboot when I want to use it. Not sure what's causing iy

Yeah its odd.

Currently my 3G refuses to fully connect. The icon shows up, but the traffic indicators stay dark & it never turns green. Last night the 3G was working & not the wifi.

It is the one last thing that is bugging me.

Hey guys, I can't for the life of me get V6 supercharger installed. I got root using the 10 step process on the first page, installed the custom recovery and successfully made a nandroid, so I know I have root. I just don't know where I'm going wrong with V6. I try running the script in Script manager and get a bunch of "not found" errors. I've also tried installing his busybox with no results.

How did you guys get this to work??

The more detail you can give, the better. Thanks in advance!! :D

You've got superuser installed? Didn't see it mentioned.

Something is reeking havoc on Juice Defender. I set the 3g TC settings back to 'normal' and 3g & wifi connect again and go green.

But JD constantly is saying I've enabled wireless data & can't turn the 3g off.

Going to back it up & reinstall to see if that helps.

Hmm that is odd. I just downloaded the .sh files to my SD Card and executed them with Script Manager.

You could try executing them from a Terminal Emulator, but I'm guessing it'd have the same results.

I'm actually considering removing 3gTC, KAK & v6SC as its absolutely not playing nicely with Juice Defender, and seems to keep breaking my 3g.

Maybe its not those, but that is the only big change I've made since the wireless were working last night.

Juice defender is over tweaking your 3g..
3gTC is just on the border line I tested them all with speedtest.net
3g blows anyway ... even more so after using 4g for a few then going back... LOL..

Do you have already run the V6 starter kit ?
No need to install busybox , because on the Starter Kit , there's busybox by wraithdu would be installed by the script.

I think the guide and explanation there on V6 Supercharger thread is complete and thorough , just give some time to read them carefully.
-------------------------------------------------------------

I've quit using JD as i found a good app efficiently save more juice , it name was Deep Sleep Battery Saver.
it has more simple configuration and easy to use,but more efficient.

I don't think JD is over tweaking the 3G.

TBH I can't pinpoint anything that is causing this.

Was going on a drive earlier so of course needed 3G to stream music. It wouldn't connect, it wouldn't even show up.

Reboot.

3G comes back. Still working great. Wifi? Nope. It goes white (connected to network) but will never turn green (internet access).

All the while I've tried this without Juice Defender.

It may not be TC, SC or KAK, actually I'm really thinking it isn't (I performed a NAND restore back to before installing them and its still happening).

There is one other android, a windows/nokia, a wifi printer and this laptop I'm on. All of them work fine. The commando can also find & communicate with anything local.

I've been looking for hours now on a solution and this seems to happen across most androids at one time or another? I thought having to do a soft reset to get it to turn on was a problem.

The only thing I haven't tried is Static IP but thats because I don't want to keep changing the thing anytime I want to use a public wifi.

Was going to try and test with the Intel Hotspot my laptop can do, but the software has vanished (downloading again now). I did try the apr -s command in two terminals and got back an error.

Did a NAND restore to the working one from yesterday and the wifi is green. But it took it a good 45+ seconds to reach that, where as before it was in a matter of seconds. 3G is working as well. Just enabled JD & everything is working.

If it isn't TC, SC & KAK then maybe it was installing the font via Rom Toolbox Pro?
