Help Major problem

Ok esteem fam so I woke up this morning to find my pride and joy, (my esteem) had been put in a cup of soda!! Not water! So I've looked up the alcohol method and the rice method does anybody know if this will help SODA DAMAGE??? Plz help lol back on the ascend and this isn't cutting it after the esteem.
 
Ouch! Honestly since soda has sugar in it I doubt the rice would work :o but I've never heard of the alcohol method

Im not even going to ask how.

I've never had to deal with a water damaged phone so I dont know. Seems like soda would be 10x worse because once it dries it will become sticky as hell.
 
leave it off and put it in front of a fan for a while or if you have a hair dryer for 10 minutes at a time if your lucky should be ok my son thru a blackberry in the toilet a couple of days ago and all is good
 
find and destroy those responsible
remove the battery and sim and SD card
depending on how long it was immersed you can either swab the outside of the phone in alcohol or give it a dunk since it was already drowning in soda. You want to allow the alcohol to eat up any sugar
next place the battery and phone into dry rice, cover it completely .
let it sit in the rice for 2-3 days
on day 3 or 4 you can try to power up the phone so long as every molecule of moisture is gone. Pray hard. If you have not succeeded in step 1 then anyone in the immediate vicinity will do

Epic esteem failed, man soda is hell getting off anything as it has alot of sugar, but if your insured take it back. :confused:

But like they said soda has sugar and that doesn't sound to good. Well in the phone no but separate, yes.

Do you have insurance?
 
Soda with sugar leaves residue that acts like a conductor. In my experience the 1st thing to do is remove the battery. The absolutely most important thing to do whenever a device get wet is to remove all power supplies, both external and battery. If the phone is still wet submerse in alcohol to clean it out and let dry in rice. If the phone has dried out with the soda still inside submerse in warm water to "melt" the soda residue away, then dunk in alcohol and place in rice to complete the drying. This method worked for me on a camcorder dropped in a punch bowl and an illuminated gaming keyboard that got drenched in Sprite.
 
Thanks everyone for the advice I put it in alcohol to get the sugar out now its in rice. Hope that works. Oh and for everyone wondering how the h@$& it happened I have an evil 3 year old who sumbmerged my phone as well as my favorite blue ps3 controller needless to say my day has been horrible.

I tried to take it apart but only got as far as removing the screws but I let it sit in the alcohol for about an hour all I can do is hopeit comes on I'm taking it out Friday not touching it till then

smart move, yea the back you need a tiny flat head screw driver to pop the latch points loose. I've taken my dev n parts esteem so many times it isnt funny lol

Ok if it doesn't come back on Friday I will try taking it apart. Of my fingers crossed though
