Help Major Problems, Please Help

Ok- I have a Droid Incredible with the android 1.22 OS. It's old. I don't know how to update it. My service provider is Cricket.

When I got the phone it came flashed for me. After the hard reset I used ##778 and re-adjusted my information to <mynumber>@mycricket.com

The 3G is working, calls are working, text is working.

Picture messaging never worked.

Before the hard reset I had lost my 3G service, after the hard reset and adjusting my information the 3G is up again.

HOWEVER- the STOCK browser is not working, the android market is not working.

The stock browser force closes every time I try to open it, and the android market gets stuck on "downloading" but never makes any progress. I am logged into google talk.

The browser I have already cleared the cache. It is still force closing.

SO- I thought "Ok, so I'll download a new browser, no problem" I downloaded the operamini.apk on my computer and transferred it to my SD card. However, thanks to the hard reset I lost my apps installer application.

So I thought, ok, I'll download the SDK and manually install the application. I downloaded the SDK and it doesn't recognize my device. Also, when navigating to the sdk folder in command prompt, using "adb device" returns the message [ 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. ]

So! I am stuck. I need to install this .apk to get a working browser on my device, OR figure out how to fix the browser.

Note: The hard reset wiped the root that came with the flash. I do not know how to root the phone myself nor do I know if it is necessary for the problems I am experiencing.

Please help me. ;~; my phone right now is just a pretty mess with no functionality. Haaaalp.
 
FIX!

I had a speed wrestling match with the stock browser and won. I opened it several times in an attempt to get to menu > settings

Took about 30 tries but I got into settings! Once I got there it tried to force close, but reopened on the settings window.

So I wiped all data/cookies/form memory/everything and set the text size from normal to small for good measure.

Now it's working!

I still have no idea how to fix the picture messaging or the android market, but at least I have web abilities now. Woot woot!
 
Android 1.22??
Incredible shipped with 2.1 on launch day.
You're not talking about Sync or some other software?
Is that a ROM you are talking about?
 
This is the second thread you have made saying you were on 1.22. That was a development build, and was never released to the public. I am actually unsure it was ever really even put on a phone. You are not running Android 1.22. You are probably running DINC-ROM-for-cricket-1.22, or whatever it is called.

You say you were in the sdk folder. IIRC, you need to be in <whatever>/sdk/platform-tools. It is also

If that does not work, redownload the sdk. Which OS are you using?

Try that, and report back.
