Help major sudden battery drain issue???

Interesting, so it's like the Media Scan, which occurs automatically anytime the SD card is mounted, got stuck on that file and just couldn't get past it. Very odd... but glad you found the solution!
 
I've been having battery drain problems as well. I downloaded gsam battery monitor to see if anything might be causing the problem and under app usage kernel is showing 74% of my current battery usage. That seems high to me. Can anyone chime in on this?

Depends what else you are doing with the phone... if it is just sitting idle, the kernel will normally use most of the battery... that being said, the kernel should not be holding the wakelock (keeps phone from sleeping, thus drawing down the battery quickly). This is tough one to track down, if you go back to the app sucker list and change the sort to Time Held Awake, is the kernel still the biggest battery sucker?
