Help Making 2nd call

Guys

When one is already on a call (doesn't matter if it was initiated or received), making a 2nd call doesn't seem a possibility on this phone with Verizon. You are only allowed to merge a 2nd call with the 1st, basically a conf call but if you want to make a quick 2nd call, there's no button for it

Can anybody confirm?

Thanks!

Yes there is. In the lower right there is a button that looks like a person with a plus sign. That allows you to make the 2nd call. Once connected to the 2nd call, another button appears that says "merge calls".

Sorry I wasn't clear. I don't want to merge calls. I simply want to make a 2nd independent call which will last 30 seconds and then get back to the 1st call

But how do i make the 2nd connection in the first place? I don't want to merge calls. I just want a 2nd independent call

I've never tried to do it, but I think you would hit the plus button (as TimK described) and then when the merge call button appears -- don't press it.

Yes, you add the second call as described above and if you don't want to merge calls, DON'T press the merge call button and your calls won't merge. Once you are done with the second call, it should go back to the first call.

But, there is no way to manually disconnect that second call. You can only wait for the other person to hang up, unless its like a voicemail system where you can press 9 to end the call or something.

I'd try testing it out first with a friend to get the hang of it.

That works.

You are not able to end the 2nd call though - it will end both. If the 2nd call receiver end the call though, your phone will continue with the 1st call.

Just tested this out and never know our phones had that capability!

EDIT...should've refreshed the screen before typing that up....Tim K already spelled it out.
