Root Making a custom rom, need suggestions from MOTION USERS AND ANY DEVELOPER!

Patching the kernal with Loki then will post link IN THIS post for anyone to test it. Note that if it works, id advise you to flash your stock rom for day to day use as at this point we don't know of the bugs and compatibility issues as of yet.

THE BELOW LINK IS FOR DEVS TO TEST THE ROM AND SEE IF THEY CAN GET IT TO FLASH TO THE MOTION. IT IS NOT FOR REGULAR USERS HOWEVER IF YOU WISH TO TEST UNDERSTAND THAT I, AND THE DEVS INVOLVED IN THE KIT KAT ROM, AND THE OWNERS/STAFF AT ANDROID FORUMS ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKS. IF YOU TEST AND YOU BRICK FOLLOW SAMMYZ GUIDE TO REFLASH LG MOTION FIRMWARE HERE

THE LINK FOR THE ROM FOR DEVS:
lgmotion.kitkat

error status 7... new updater binary and script did not fix the problem.
only this time, its the rom stating that its for the LG G2, and this isnt an LG device. Tells me that the kitchen didnt port.

Your condescending post is clearly in reference to me.

If you have an issue with me find a way to say it to me privately or don't say anything at all. You and I don't like each other, so I've always tried to keep my distance from you especially since you're a known trouble maker that's previously been banned twice from this site.

In case you must know, I've already given 2 people permission to include my kernel in their roms and don't wish for anyone else to include it. You don't see me talking about anyone when they request their work not be used. Also besides pointing out some things I never told him he couldn't make the rom, in fact I told him that it's welcomed and to go ahead and make it.

Again If you have an issue with me handle it privately, if not lets continue to keep our distance.

GT if you inspect my post history it will show that I've always praised you and your work. I have in fact encouraged people to use your work. If there is a problem with anyone then it appears you have a dislike of me. As for my past...well that is in the past and rules were made to be followed by members of AF. That is why myself and all members here strive to ASSIST others and become a helpful and productive part of this community. I'm sorry you have a problem with me but I have no problem with you. Love your work and hope you keep pumping it out. No pm necessary to say that..

No need to dig into your post history since I was replying to your first post in this thread which was clearly a negative comment in reference to me. If you didn't have a problem with me, you wouldn't have made that post and we wouldn't be having this discussion. I don't go around posting negative comments about you and I would appreciate you do the same.

Austin, are you attempting to port this using AK?? If so I have never seen it successfully done using AK. I could be wrong, but I've not ever seen nor have I ever had luck with it.

Also have you gotten this to boot at all yet??

Thus far I keep getting errors from the updater-script. And thats after removing the assert check, the backup crap for gapps. and anything else I see in the recovery.log.

UPDATE: it doesnt boot fully. It boots to a blank screen with no adb.

I was but now I'm going to try a different way. It wouldn't even flash for me. I wonder if it would be possible to make it go into an adb to connect to pc to push and install the firmware image to where it runs the kit kat firmware, and dump it and take it from adb shell. Then use that to repack to a flashible zip

And it worked? Because if it does im thinking if i do it i can dump it and make it a flashable zip file to flash through cwm

booted to blank screen lol.

pulling it wouldnt make it any diff that whats ya have atm. not to mention the gfx for the g2 and motion are worlds apart.

Well good luck on your endeavor. If you do get kk working I'm happy for y'all. I'm sorry to inform you though, but cdma will officially be gone from metro by 2015. The person that told you otherwise from corporate is wrong. Which doesn't surprise me considering metro has the worst customer service and almost all are idiots. T-Mobile has basically taken over metro at least in bandwidth (whether metro admits it or not) and in case you haven't noticed is making major moves in broadening their spectrum. Metro is offering 4g phones so cheap right now not so you can upgrade because you'd actually downgrade going from a cdma lte capable phone to a basic 4g phone, but because the sooner people switch to gsm phones tmo and essentially metro can improve their spectrum even faster offering much much faster data speeds on gsm lte by completely doing away with cdma from their spectrum. Cdma will be left to Sprint and Verizon. The motion isn't equipped to work on gsm which is the sole network Metro will be using come 2015. You will though if you purchase an lte gsm capable phone experience major improvements in data speeds...

Well Austin since you're putting an effort to try to port Kitkat all I have to say is don't give up. Failure leads to success! Although I don't use my motion anymore as a daily device so you can pm at anytime if you need some testing. :)

how is going to gsm a downgrade?? You need to read up, cdma sucks and is on its way out FINALLY. And LTE is LTE regardless of what its paired too.

And yea, tmo is def the ones in charge. The rude, incompetent, metro employees ya know are in for a big surprise. ;)

Well because even though you're going from cdma to gsm the motion is capable of lte and the phones metro is offering for $29 are only 4g not lte.

for $29 wtf do you expect lol. Metro has gsm/lte devices tho. Not to mention any tmo device can be used too. ;)

If you've not figured it out yet, you get what you pay for. ;)

And HSPA+ is fast, not quite capable of the same speeds of LTE, but the way crap is capped, you prolly wouldnt notice much of a difference in a good area. ;)

Yeah exactly. Which is why I'm a tmo customer with a G2 getting an avg of 35megs down on the regular. Lol. Yes metro does have lte capable phones but they're mid-tier and to me the same ole metro junk. I wouldn't dream of taking my G2 to metro when tmo has much more usable bloatware and friendlier customer service.

Metro still has better prices tho. lol

I'm on tmo too with my gnex. :)

What i would like the Most!
A kernel
With governors like Gametheory compiled
Maybe a few extra features
Undervolt would be great but not necessary
(I think my gutted roms would do quite well undervolted)
Large file support (over 4 gig)

But most of all
Abilty to edit the files
All the inits services and settings files
This would allow huge benefits for settings
And allow control over so many uneeded services

Especially now that the motion is becoming a (sidekick or companion phone)
Minitab or minitop
As opposed to a main phone

You probably may need to resize the rom(apps and stuff) since the G2 is a LARGE phone compared to the motion.
I would be glad to assist you in any way possible😋😉

Glad to see someone still hard at work on this aged device. Keep up the hard work and good luck. 👍👌
