So, reading a thread on the issues with scratching on the aluminum iPhone 5...
I find it funny that so many iPhone people buy the phone because it is so sexy, and the 1st thing done is throw an otter box on it.
Really, there are so many iPhones with otter boxes, that I cannot remember the last time I've seen a naked iPhone of any series.
I'm not against cases, nor iPhones (now getting boring) but it just seems that so many iPhone owners are enamored with its beauty and it IS a huge, if not the top reason they buy one. However, 99% of the iPhones out there have cases on them. I don't think I've ever seen a case on an iPhone that wasn't rubber; no TPU, no silicone, no shell, just large rubber bricks, things that will not fit inside a pocket.
It almost seems like false advertising when you see an ad for the iPhone with no case on it. It will have a case on it the day someone purchases it.
Are they really that fragile? It seems that on drop tests, they do fine. I guess having a scratch on the back is horrid and everyone will just look at you funny. Like having a stain on your shirt, so you walk around all day with a bib on just to protect your fancy shirt. "You like my $700 silk shirt?" when all you see is the protective bib on it.
Not trying to start anything, but these things just get me thinking and make me laugh.
