You definitely don't want to flash that over the current cm7; the rest of the framework has been updated a lot since I last made that mod. You'll bootloop as you found out.

I themed CM7 the 02-18-2012 build with guiding light theme from he droid bionic, I've gotten i'd say 99% of it themed, but after i theme the rom the battery icon is in increments of 5% increments, So Ziggy told me to try & grab the files from the framework-res.apk in the drawable folder, stat_sys_battery.xml & stat_sys_battery_charge.xml & replace them with the ones in my res, this didn't help me lol, the battery icon turned into a little blue question mark which is stat_sys_battery_unknow, So Marc 12868 made me a flashable zip to test, it bootlooped my phone, so i opened up the zip Marc sent me it looked he copied the PNG's from the themed framework-res.apk into the flashable zip. There is a pretty good size difference in the stat_sys_battery.xml, stat_sys_battery_charge.xml files from compared from the res in your mod & the res in the my themed rom, those two files inside your mod are the only different sized files. I even copied the framework-res.apk from a bionic that is themed with guiding light, Opened it up to make sure it's hdpi & it is. I can copy the PNG's from the bionic res into mine & it will boot ? I haved tried all kinds of things & called in some help, Marc 12868 tried but no luck, If you can help me that would be cool i have everything uploaded if you need the bionic framework-res.apk or the rom. Thanks for your help Mantera. :D

Are you just copying the files into your framework-res.apk using a Zip utility? Or are you decompiling the files, making your changes, then recompiling it again using apktool, apk manager, or apk multi tool?

7zip, but it's seemed to work on all the rest of the theming ? I've been trying to get my phone to connect to any type of ADB, but it won't connect to my laptop via ADB anymore ? Is there something else i could try ?

Well since just copying the files over using 7-zip isn't working, I'd say try doing the decompile/recompile method.

Use the APK Multi-tool from this info thread:
[Windows XP/VISTA/7][UTILITY][TOOL] APK Multi-Tool - xda-developers

READ HIS FAQ and install instructions in the thread above if you are not familiar with it.

Raziel23x's download link is in here:
APK Multi-Tool

1. After you have set it up, decompile the framework-res.apk from the droid's rom.

2. Decompile your framework-res.apk.

3. Copy over the required files from the decompiled droid into your decompiled framework-res.apk.

4. recompile your file. Make sure that you say Y to when it asks if this is a system file. And yes when it asks if you want to decompile the files into a KEEP folder.

5. In the Keep folder, delete the files that you have changed: so the battery xml files and the .png files. And also the asrc file in the root Keep folder.

6. Back in the script, hit Enter and let it finish building the framework-res.apk file.

7. Once that is done, since adb isn't working for you, just replace the framework-res.apk file in your Zip with the new one and flash as normal.

ok i will try, so is stick the res.apk into the folder that says apk (duh) but do i have to type the whole path for it to work or will the file being in there make it recognize the file ?

Are you using the APK multi-tool?

If you are, then you shouldn't have to be typing anything besides selecting the menu options. All of the commands are in the menus.

ok i got it to decompile the res, but then i get a little lost, so it's decompile both of the framework-res.apk's, now is that with the framework i've made or the stock CM7 framework ? 2nd when i told apk tool it gave me error's ? i tried to copy the error text but it won't let me. After the decompile what next then & i used the res i built & the bionic res is this right ?

do one at a time....

decompile manteras mod, take out the battery files that you need from the drawable folder. and put them on your desktop. then delete everything that you just decompiled so you can start new...

then decomple the latest stock cm7 framework (cause if you added images that werent supposed to be there it will error upon compiling) and put the battery files you moved to your desktop into the newly decompiled drawable folder.

now recompile... once recompiled you can readd your images and such :D

p.s- if you did any xml edits for color you will have to redo those before recompiling

I did exactly what you said & i still get error's, then i tried to just decompile & recompile the same framework-res.apk untouched ? I don't know why it will let me decompile but not recompile ?

well i can get the APK Tool to decompile , & it will recompile the res if i don't mess with it but when i try to add those two files i get error's, is it the the res or is the path bad ? So i'm not sure man ? ok from the install, the first time i installed it it wanted to go inside android sdk, i let it this was a mistake, so i uninstalled it rebooted & when i went back to install it, it didn't automaticly choose sdk for me to install to, so i installed it on the C:\Jaay Dogg\ APK Tool is this correct ?:eek::eek:

Use the one I posted... Its easier to use. And you just want to put it in /c: if possible.

Also, the one I linked to you makes a log.txt of what goes wrong during recompiling. So try it, and if you get errors upload the log.txt.

Here:

framework-res.apk

I haven't tested it. I just placed the battery icons and xml files in this apk and recompiled. I don't see any reasons why it wouldn't work though. I didn't get any errors. There must be something else up with your setup.

What build is this from ? The newest one rom right 03-04-2012 ? I finally got the APK tool to kinda Work it's strange, anyway the res I ended up with is smaller than this zip. But thank you for your time I really do appreciate it.:D as soon as I know which rom to stick it in I'll let you know if it works, hope so
