Help Manually Mark Read SMS as Unread?

I've searched all over and cannot find a way to mark Read SMS text messages as Unread. I get lots of texts and sometimes don't want to address specific ones until later. On my BB and other phones, I could mark as Unread, so it would stand out later when I could deal with them. There doesn't seem to be an option in the initial menus for texts.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I still haven't found a way of marking unread a currently read SMS message, but I've found that Handcent SMS allows you to read a new SMS message and decide if you want to mark it as read or not.

This can be done if using SMS Popup. There is a "Mark Read" option for when clicking the close button. So if left unchecked, it should do what you guys are wanting.

This isn't the same thing. This stops a message getting marked as read in the first place, rather than marking it as unread after you have read it. I use ChompSMS which has a popup with 'Done' (mark as read) 'Later' (leave unread) and 'Reply' buttons.

The OP asks how to mark a message as unread once it has been read. I also want to be able to do this and can't find a way. Any ideas?

FYI, I'm running 2.1 (Eclair) on Sony X10.
