Help Maps

Every time I'm trying to use Maps, my phone tells me to update Maps. Ok I press the update and it tells me to update India. One I don't have the India map, two I live in Thailand, three I don't want the India map.
The current version of the Google Map on my phone is 6.1.0. It's quite puzzling. Anyone with the same problem?

v6.1.0 is the current version of Maps. You haven't cached (downloaded) any maps for offline use, have you? Maybe the mapping data has been updated since and that's what it means? Just guessing.... I've never seen a similar update notice myself.
