Root Market Issues

You got the stock market running on your phone? If so go into setings/applications/manage applications/all/market and first force stop it. Then clear your cache, and finally clear your data. doing this is pretty much the same as reinstalling the market.

Well I just did that and I still have problems. When I go to download from the market it will start the download but after about 10 seconds it f/c's.

Boot into clockwork recovery and clear your dalvic cache. If that doesn't work reflash Bouchigo's deodex zip. Be sure you flash the right one. 596......not 595.......lol.

Well, no luck with either. This is so wierd, I have been running Bouchigo's .596 deodex for several weeks with no problems.

Ok. Last resort. Go over to the xda forum and look for the different color markets and flash one. Color doesn't matter but choose one you like. You flash them just like any other file, in clockwork recovery. You will have to clear your dalvic cashe again before you leave cwr and if it does work you will have to go into titanium backup and freeze the market updater so it doesn't change it back to the stock app.

I uninstalled updates to the market and that fixed it, fyi.

As Steven said, you need to force stop the market and then unistall updates. Just clearing cach and data will not work.

Guys I appreciate all the help. Believe it or not Steven's suggestion did the trick. You know what they say :Simple minds think a like"

Well dont that beat all. Well, my suggestion worked for mine but hey. All droids aren't the same as we know. But great that you got er fixed up.

Can anyone tell me if there have been any updates for apps that are common that I can see if I have it on my DX? I don't think I'm getting updates from the market.

The easiest thing to do is look for the app in question on the market and look at the build number. If it's different than the copy you have then yes it's out of date and your not getting updates like you should be.

Also make sure you have your markets settings set to notify you when there is an update for an app or set it to update automatically.
