After a week or so, see if your wifi drops once in a while. For me, it drops and comes back within 5 seconds. Still it should not do that. The Galaxy S7 forum is filled with complaints about it.


The XDA thread for skinny rom is not clear. Is the first update zip a first version? Is the Alpha version the updated version?

i was just reading through that thread and i am also confused...it looks like the alpha is a debloated version that is rooted and the first update is just the first version that is not rooted or debloated...i posted in there to see if i could get an answer

i wonder which of those 2 versions viper is running and if he can tell us more...i'm also curious if i have to wipe anything before installing? but i assume since he says you have to be on an lg based rom with an unlocked bootloader is he referring to mm so i can just dirty flash it?
 
I am on alpha test 3..

I had to update my superSU to beta 2.74 , and updated ADB to 1.43 in "all in one tool v4.

Unlocked oem bootloader with the fast boot with the updated adb.

Flashified twrp omni test.img

Wifi scanning is off in settings ( no build prop edits yet )

Been saving and restoring and modding for 4 days on a metro 10d firmware phone.

Still Happy with the results so far.

what do you mean you had to update supersu? i thought it says that the alpha test 3 is already rooted?

why would you have to update adb? you arent using adb to flash the skinny rom...

my bootloader is already unlocked, i unlocked it to root stock metro mm and flash twrp

if your phone is completely stock, no root/no custom recovery, doing a factory reset will not return you to lp, it will just bring mm back to a completely stock state
 
The supersu and adb were updated just to get the all in one tool to not hang in its batch file. To get bl unlocked. Adb and fastboot updates just worked better.
I could step batch file with ctl c and say no when asked but i wanted to get it fixed too.
You don't need them to flash 6.0 but it does give you su updated in the end. Which is newer and chainfire suggested on other mm updates.

So, you were coming unrooted Lollipop going to Stock MM and then rooting and then going to this ROM?

I don't know if I want to flash the Skinny ROM yet because the instructions are so vague. I'm on Marshmallow (Tmobile) rooted. Unlocked bootloader and TWRP is already on my phone. My guess is I can flash this skinny rom through TWRP and skip all the other steps, I think? lol
 
I flashed it and am restoring apps now. (Alphatest3)

My sd card "adoptable" part is gone. I set it up as part adoptable and part portable. Only the portable part shows up.

EDIT: I forgot, I will have to turn on Adoptable Storage in build prop. Let's see if that brings it back

I thought the Tmobile bloat was removed?? There is still some Tmobile apps on there.

Advanced Text Messaging is there.
Video calling is there.

So far, so good.

I just wiped data, cache and davlik cache and a nandroid backup before flashing Skinny rom.
 
Is you recovery saved to you external sd.
Even if it is save a copy of it off the phone.

THEN
boot twrp
factory reset
wipe dalvic and cashe
install skinny rom
boot and let it sit and setup (5 minutes)
set up your accounts and use goggle to restore your personal apps and info.

and you did factory reset and wiped cache and dalvic...the confusion is real...

Is your phone rooted?

You know this is a Tmobile Marshmallow ROM? There is still some Tmobile bloat. I'm not sure why? LOL. I thought he debloated.

yeah i know its tmobile but from what im reading it should work just fine on metro...i wonder why all of the tmobile bloat hasnt been removed...

someone in that thread mentioned that the wifi has improved on that alpha 3 version...have you noticed an improvement yet?

Still too early to make a judgement on wifi. I'm restoring some of my root only apps.
 
Just advance restore data from your saved 6.0 stock and your added apps should reboot loaded.

Ie; restore you build.prop memory stuff first
