My mate has lost his HTC Desire he asked me to find out if there was any way of finding it. The problem is he doesn't have Lookout or anything installed (silly bugger lol).

Is there anything he can do?

Cheers :)

That looks like a great app if it does what it says, must remember that if anyone ever loses an android phone in the future...

YES!! He has found it! Left in Costa Coffee. Thank you very much for that recommendation. It worked :D

Guys if you ever loose your phone (which i hope you don't) - this or lookout is the way to go.

Don't really understand how this works? How do you download an app to your phone if you have lost the phone? I assume that it would be a good idea to download in advance of losing it now that I know it exists? Already have Lookout and Seekdroid but never can have too many ways to track my phone!

Just tried it as a test and it works well, got it down to 7 metres with googlemaps showing it in my house.

Just got to love the reviews for that app! Loving the differently-abled people complaining it didn't work for them and the guy asking if it works if the phone is off or damaged... Do people really think you can download and install an app and subsequently access the GPS and phone comms of a device WITH NO POWER RUNNING THROUGH IT!!!?? It's clever, folks, it's not f***ing magic.

I know i have seen those comments, they have to be crazy to think thats possible

Just looking at what's on my phone and found Plan B. I tried this when suggested in this thread and it worked really well. What I don't know though is what happens when/if I lose my phone for real. Do I need to uninstall Plan B now so that I can re-download if necessary? Or is there a way to re-activate Plan B when it's already on my phone?

install lookout instead :P
planB is a striped down version of lookout and really only there if you have nothing and need to auto install via googlemarket.

if you have lookout (made by the same people) you can just log onto their web portal and clock locate and itll track it
