Root Maybe this will shed some light on the UD vs CM issue

We can help you get it back. But we'll need your social security number for verification that it's really you.

And full name, age, date of birth, mailing address, email address, home phone, cell phone, place of work, number of years employed, fathers name, mothers name, spouses name, 3 copies of your signature, bank name, bank address, checking account number, savings account number, lien information, automobile type, license plate number, average hours spent driving each week, and gps coordinates for your house, car, spouse, parents, self, work, bank, and favorite hangout location.

Oh, well, then, you can skip the favorite hangout location, 'cause we can figure that one out ourselves :p

So john when you gonna trade in that hunk a junk Altima and get a GT-R? I seen one in New Hampshire the other day on my way to Maine and it was sick, I got right next to him and looked over and it was a chick driving! She downshifted and floored it and I heard the wheels chirp and boom she was gone (We were already doing about 95 when side by side too so she musta hit like 120 or more).

GT-R, I remember when those were released.. aren't those the ones at first that offered Launch control and then would not warranty the car if you used it?

Cool car, but I will stick with my 32V Lotus motored Corvette

When I can friggin afford it...I ain't making 6 figure s yet lol. hell, I am graduating in 2 weeks, kinda hard to be doing that while yer in college.

If I were already makin' it, I may not even *be* in college....

I actually had the Altima doing 115-125 on a trip to North carolina a couple of weeks ago. Headed to Elon for a Math Tournament and I opted to drive since I hate being in a friggin van with more than 3 other people - stopping every 30 minutes, music everywhere, snoring, etc....not my cup of tea.

I took the back roads from middle GA to i20, and not 10 miles on 20 a Saturn flies by - I was already at 80 and it literally FLEW by. checked rear view, and here comes a Bimmer also, but just a tad slower. I said F it and we started a 3 way tag team, changing leads, watching out for each other, all the way to 85....

Of course, you know the entire time I was jonesing for the GT-R lol. I mean, the Altima 4banger impressed me (first time I have taken *this* car over 100) as at such high speeds I was near maxing out the torque band when it slipped into the passing gear, so the shifting and such was a lot smoother than when it has to downshift to 3rd to get more torque lol - but still, taking and wasting time to just get to 120 from 100 was ... humbling. lol

Always loved 'vettes - but I like cornering more. New 'vettes are scary, though, no kidding. those things are fast!

yes they are.. a Well equipped vette will handle corners well.. my ZR-1 has Poly bushings and Coilovers.. those help a lot..

Ah...seems I've missed a lot. Oh well. Like someone else said, UD has always been the best ROM for me, but I must admit, I'm not a huge fan of UD10. I haven't tried cyanogen's ROMs, (or have I? lol), but I'm ready for something diff.

Hmm.. a fellow Nissan driver..:D I have a '96 Maxima myself.. 3.0v6/automatic. Its actually the fastest/best accelerating car I have owned.. and I have had a few sports cars in the past. It'll even whip my old '81 Mustang(302/auto)..and even my '96 Probe GT(Same thing as Mazda MX6) with a KLZE J-Spec 205hp engine teamed up to a 5 speed.

EDIT.. obviously never had a newer high-end sportscar.. I'm more of a budget car kind of guy.

I actually like Nissan's cars.. they are built well and last a hell of a long time if they are taken care of.

Muahaha... sorry, but I've got to say it. 81 Stangs aren't much of a challenge for any performance car. Especially in the corners. Besides... if the light is long enough, it will rust away before you get a green. Not to mention the fact that the 96 Maxima was 250bhp, if memory serves me correctly. It stands to reason it would take a j-spec. Not that a j-spec wasn't one hell of a step up from the stock GT v6 which was only 170whp.

As for the reliability of Nissans, I am actually amazed to hear anyone say what you did. Of course, I owned a 300zxTT, which would literally rip itself apart in one weekend of play. Talk to any TTZ owner, and the story is the same. "TTZ" and "Reliable" will never be found in the same sentence on a Nissan forum.

The SR20DE/DET engines were bulletproof, provided you actually knew quite a lot about them. The SR20DE was a very high revving engine, but lacked oil squirters, so if you let it get even half a quart low and drove it rough, you would grenade a rod like an egg tossed at a brick wall. (Been there, done that.)

As for the "Jonsin' for a GT-R" comment... if you are talking about the new Skylines, do some reading. Your craving will be cured instantly. Read up on the pedestrian safety system and what the cost is to fix it, should you bump something at a very low speed.

I agree about the Mustang I had-it was crap lol.

The '96 Maxima has the fairly well-known 190 bhp VQ30DE .. not that 190hp is much, but it still zips right along and holds its own pretty well. Mine actually has 197,000 miles on it, and still runs quiet, smooth, and strong. I'm planning on changing to the '01 intake which jumps it to 225hp(IIRC), and getting rid of the auto tranny for a 5-speed. Then it will be more fun:p.

Maybe someday I will be able to afford something better..:( lol

Personal preference, but I never saw the point in dumping gobs of money into a FWD. It all becomes power wasted past a certain point.

I'm a good example of the general public, and I know exactly what you guys mean - Linux is my favorite!! But I don't like his sister Lucy, she's really mean to Charlie Brown. ;)

OK, that's pretty much proof it's time to lock this thread...
