ME 501/Quench

I think the Motorola ME 501 (sold in China) is called the Quench in North America. There are several posts about how to reflash this - I am reading them now. I have a couple of basic questions before I begin this process.

1. I have a google account. Can I synch the content on my ME501 with my google account? Contacts? short messages (SMS)? photos? What other things can/cannot be synced?

2. I am assuming that if I use a flash for the Quench it will practically eliminate the Chinese on the system - except for the part that connects with the Chinese SIM card. Is this a reasonable assumption? That is one of the main reasons why I want to flash it. I have already had it flashed by a Chinese friend to 2.2 or 2.3 but it still has a lot of Chinese in it.

Are there any other questions I should be asking before I do this?

A1= You can sync your contacts and anything you have on google drive with it as far as I know. however for SMS you will need a SMS backup program and for photo's I would push them over to the computer before flashing anything. Your data cannot be synced so any game data or anything stored in the phones /data partition cannot be synced. Google Play can back up and sync the apps you have though just not the data with them.

A2= I really have no earthly idea

As far as other questions I'm not sure at the moment
