"Meeting" Mode?

I am looking for a widget or app or something that would allow me to toggle my N7000 between being totally silent and making whatever sounds it happens to be config'd to make.

But here's the zinger: after a predetermined time has passed, it should automagically exit from silent mode and resume normal sounds.

So: the user goes into a meeting, they touch the icon, and the device shuts up for, say, an hour... but the user does not have to remember to turn sounds back on again - is just does it all by itself.

I use a widget that manually turns on and off my notification sounds. It is Volume Widget by Leep Studios. However, you have to manually turn the sounds back on. I use this to turn off the sounds when I go to bed and turn them back on when I wake up.

This is the best I can do. I don't know of one that automates turning it back on.

You could accomplish this with a simple Tasker profile. I have one set up so that anytime there is a meeting on my calendar it automatically goes into a meeting profile and then back to normal after that calendar event is over. It would be easy to create an icon to enter the profile and then have a set time before it returns to normal though.

When you turn your phone all the way to silent, Shush will give you a pop up display asking for how long. You can do this in amount of minutes or time of day.

To cancel Shush you just tap volume up.

Thank you so much. I was looking for something simple like this last night but couldn't find anything, I suppose it's knowing what to search for. This is definately the best one by far that I've looked at and i installed and uninstalled many last night lol.

There is Profile Switcher which lets you set up new schedules for whatever profiles you already have.

Somebody should note chrlswltrs' reference to "Tasker". I'm just skimming the docs now and it looks like some *serious* functionality: something well worth any learning curve involved.

Ok, i tried Shush last night, or phone silent and set time so it came in at 10am. Guess what, woke up at 7.30am by cats and found phone already switched sound back on! Also, it didn't turn ask notifications off. Anyone else have this problem?

I've used Shush more than a few dozen times and haven't noticed this problem. My most common usage is in a meeting or in a movie, I set Shush to end about 30 minutes after the scheduled end time. Then within a few minutes after the scheduled end of Shush I hear something for the first time. So, I can't say I look at it during the time it is supposed to be off. Except for the few times I canceled Shush 5-10 minutes into the silence.
