Help Member question from Antarctica

[Steven58]

Friends,

A member FB messaged me from Antarctica with a skype question. I don't use it and don't need it, so I don't know much about it....

He's got a DX, I believe. I helped him root it months ago.

Here's his question. Answer it for me and I'll Facebook Message him back. TIA.

"Greetings from Antarctica! Is there a way that Skype can be used on a Droid X via 3G or wifi overseas?"

Essentially, I bought a Droid X in the US. It's rooted, etc. I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to make calls to the US while voyaging at sea for the next few years via the Verizon connection. If I have to use wifi, I will, but would prefer not to because it would allow me to use the unlimited global data and email package.

^^^ Yeah, that's the member who PM'd me.
