memory card choice

ok so 2 weeks till upgrade and it can only be htc hero , wanna get memory card before hand , so i could do with some advice regards brand and class , size wise lookin at either 8 or 16 gb will cards this big slow down the phone when they are almost full , , thx

Class 6 is apparently the best because it's fastest.

Class 6 can be the fastest, but it's not a given.

The various SD class ratings are merely minimums that have to be achieved. There's nothing to say that a good Class 4 (or even Class 2) card can't out-perform a Class 6 card. The only way to be sure of having the fastest-possible card is to track down benchmarks on the interweb.
