Memory Card Woes...

oh great android geeks aid me in my problem...

cos its really starting to p*ss me off now big time..

basically I have been messing around creating graphics etc for the phone and its been going ok...but then last night I get the "mounted readonly" SD card question mark bit in the notifications bar...and it wouldnt allow me to access my gallery...

and clicking it to remount the SD card just made it loop back round again...odd thing...I could still access the memory card...aka..play music and watch films and play games which are on the 1GB partition as im rooted...

I had this once before and it was *ALSO* when I was playing around with graphics creating a windows phone 7 'style' overlay...and all I did was delete all the pics and slowly re-add them until I found the one that was screwing up the card..

I've done that this time...yet its STILL doing the unmounting thing....*BUT* now it only does it when I go into widget locker and select and alternate wallpaper and it loads the 3D gallery (by default in leedroid 2.3c...cant change this)....BUT once I remount...I can go into the normal gallery and look at everything fine and it all still runs fine an dandy...

only now does it when I go change a wallpaper in widget locker...nothing else..well..that I have found anyway...

so come on oh guru's of android...please help me lol...seriously...I dont REALLY wanna have to go through the trouble of backing everything up via titanium and having to wipe the memory card and then do everything again...which also includes making the partition again as the format kills the partition...which is a bitch...

so....is this a sign of a failing memory card or just me maybe pluggin it into the computer one to many times on disk drive and android throwing a lil tantrum for a short while?

make a nandroid backup asap and then copy everything off the card
mount the card via recovery
use gparted live for format the card and repartition it
copy data back to the card
dismount mass storage via recovery
restore backup

this will restore your ext partition too and give you a clean card

Cheers rasta but not really what I asked.....I wanna know if its a failing card or not...as there's no point me doing anything if it is just bout to kick the bucket so to speak..an if its not then what could of caused it.
