Help memory card

my phone show that i dont have a memory card. When I reboot phone the card shows up but then disappears. I get a "unmount card before removal" message. can anyone help?

first go to menu.settings.sd&phone storage does the third option down say "mount sd card"

if so press that and see if that fixes it.

if not remove memory card, place back into phone and see if it works

if not remove the memory card and plug it in to a card reader on a pc and see if it reads it. back up contents and format it. put contents back on, put back in phone.

if all else fails try a different memory card

One small adendum to what the above poster mentioned, after you copy all your stuff to your computer, try to use the phone to format the card. I heard this will help with long term stability of the memory card. Windows lets you format with different settigns and some phones done like that. So by letting the phone do it its done right.
