Memory cards in N3

How is it a trick question?

Ultra high speed (as far as I know) data transfer doesn't work unless the device is compatible. So if its not it wont benefit by the UHS data transfer. You can use UHS in the N3 but if its not UHS compatible you wont' benefit from using that particular standard of card.

Think this makes sense...!

The reason I am asking is that there are class 10 cards available both with and without it. The cost difference is like a

Wish I could do a countdown for Sprint!...LOL. I hope the holdup is for a really, really good reason.

Drex,
I apologize, I'm not in the Sprint loop. What is the date for you? Was there a delay? I assumed Verizon has the latest release date, because that's how they roll. Thanks.

No clue. There was one article that came out today, trying to throw out rumors about their releasing on October 2 as well, but Sprint has been absolutely silent.

Part of me wonders if it was waiting to release the iPhones first (tomorrow), prior to giving any definitive information on the Note 3.

Normally, Verizon would be the latest, but this year Sprint seems to be. And it's so weird because of how popular the Note 2 was on Sprint, after it released.

Should I go and get it Tuesday evening and suffer the ghastly evening traffic and the "launch party" at the Samsung Centre or should I just fetch it Wednesday morning?

Wednesday morning - less hassle. Simon, while your there, can you find out if and when the pink Note will be available.Thank you.

Not a chance in the world you'd be able to stop me from getting it Tuesday night. Being at home, it would be tearing me apart knowing my device is just sitting there in all its glory, dying to be played with. I wouldn't sleep well waiting for Wednesday morning. It would be like Christmas Eve knowing "Santa" already brought your stuff and you aren't allowed to go downstairs yet. Yes, it is the first grade teacher in me (same mentality) I would not be able to wait. :)

Yes well it would still have to charge. How long do these devices take to charge? And what's the battery technology like? Is it better to do a full charge/deep-discharge cycle first?

I have always played with my device as soon as I get it, then give it a full charge. And I still get good life out of my 3 batteries (I swap them out as soon as I'm out of juice.) To get a full charge you need only a couple of hours.

I will pick mine up from cpw store in town whenever it comes in assuming weds or Thursday. I have the note 2 which I'm happy with so not wetting myself over this upgrade but still looking forward to it all the same.
As for batteries they are partially charged so I have a play and get the restores going and then stick it on charge while its installing apps etc.
Batteries are pretty bullet proof nowadays but I've never been one to faff around with magical mystical charging cycles. Never had any problems either.

There is a FedEx employee over on XDA, who apparently has a good reputation, saying the Verizon version is shipping out 9/29.

That's a Sunday, but people apparently have reason to believe him. I'm pretty new over there so I don't know.

But I do pin a lot of hope on the fact that Verizon says it will ship BY 10/10.

So shipping before is certainly possible.

Oh, that would be such a nice turn of events!

…get the restores going…
I need this explaining.

And I don't think the deep discharge cycles that certainly used to be advisable with some fairly recent battery technology were at all mystical. Especially, that first one. I was just wondering if it was still advisable.
