well i've succeeded in successfully bricking my last dev merit

by

repartitioning the nand... thought i figured out how to do it correctly, but not...

so, until someone offers to send me a working device,

DEVELOPMENT IS OVER FOR THE AVAIL / MERIT

so, to all you who have asked me for things and that i've obliged over the last couple of years, well, now's the time to start thinking about returning the favor...

Heh bricked mine.

Tried that blade recovery. It let me in fastboot went to bed, nothing but boot logo and dfu mode.

Ah well, was playing. Was hoping to flash with spflash but not sure has to make a scatter.text for this phone.

Its not formatted, just need to figure out how to get a working recovery back to reflash.

MTD natively supports repartitioning, I just didn't give it much effort.

oh, it works,

you just can't use hex values in the cmdline, but must use decimal or convert decimal to kb/mb

i used new hex values

and

i removed the splash partition altogether so that i could use the open source charger animation in the boot.img

but

after booting to recovery and formatting all the partitions and then restoring the last nandroid,

the splash partition still exists but the recovery partition doesn't.

which is really crazy because the recovery is first partition on the device and i didn't change it at all, only the splash.

now it just boot loops splash to kernel, splash to kernel.

no way to fix since the device isn't recognized either.

there's not enough information available in the few threads the process is described.

i'm positive my math is right though so i'm not sure what happened exactly.
