Root [Merit] how to increase your internal memory fully on the merit

Ok these steps are quite simple works it roots and causes your partition to become internal memory on the merit/avail
Required items:
1.Minitool partition
2.AreaRom-Z990-v2.2.3-NW.zip(google to find it)
3.CWM
4.Any other rom you desire if the area rom is not your taste(optional)


Steps
1. first use minitool partition and create a 2gb partition perferable set it to primary and make it ext2
2.once you have created your partition boot into recovery and make a backup just to be safe
3.Go to install zip from sd and install AreaRom-Z990-v2.2.3-NW.zip
4.This will automatically read your partition and allow it to become the internal memory
5.clear data and cache
6.reboot device and enjoy your merit with an internal memory of 2gb or more depending on your partition size.
Optional Step:
1.If you do not like the area rom theme simply flash your own rom over it wipe date and cache once your finish flashing. The great thing is the partiton will still be there and you will still have your huge internal memory 100% usable.

You can also do a advanced restore if your kernel was chaged. But only restore the boot only if your kernel was change this would alow you to keep your data at the size of you ext

If at all possible, don't update Holo launcher just yet. I need to do an updated version for the AreaROM. Updating will undo my graphical changes (as I said on AA51).

Your very welcom but this is no spam sir and its not usless information. i was just stating that after you flash the new arearom make a backup. Then flash your new rom but to keep you data as your ext you would need just the kernel. So thats why i stated to just do a advanced restore of the boot

You're very close, but not 100% correct. The secret lies in the boot.img, not the kernel by itself . Also, you don't have to keep your data, but you can.

also, it's unwise to only restore the boot.img--if one has ever installed any custom kernel--without also restoring it's proper drivers, else your device may not boot or if it does, your wifi will not work.

modules and drivers are tied to their own kernels, which is in the boot.img, and therefore will NOT work with other kernels

I forgot about that part, but I am so used to source ROMs that I build the modules straight into the boot.img. This DOES NOT normally work on a stock ROM without some weird revisions.

Yes you may be right. I am no expert but ive tried it and its worked perfectly for me. I mean i havent tried it on all roms but i know it works and boots fine. I might be a rookie but ive been rooting my phone since the optimus m. Back to the subject you should have a backup just incase something does go wrong but ive tried it on two roms. The point was to keep the kernel idk how to make a flashable boot .img so i just explained an easy way of keeping the kernel for extra storage for those that dont know too much about flashing or like it was stated above if they dont like the way the arearom look. I personaly like the mean green colors and the area51 boot of zte and spining alian great props to the devs its also a fast rom
