Had a scoot around at all the devices available and got down to motorola HTC desire & nexus.

Got the mrs a wildfire and was impressed with 2.1 so looking forward to trying 2.2. Then I read about 3 and thought Google will get it first.

Anyway - sure I'll be bugging you with loads of questions you've all answered before ;)

I'm always reading and looking, but the problem is that I don't see the point in posting to just agree with somebody else. I post when I have valuable information or when I am in need of help. Unfortunately, most people have already gotten the valuable information section all sewn up, and I don't need a lot of helps these days.

Surely we shouldn't post for the sake of it?

*whistle innocently* you become an Android addict and start venturing out into other phone forums, the application forum, the android lounge forum, the android theme forum. You go look for threads with problems/issues and see if you can help. Then you get the brillient idea of being a phone Guide, so you end up posting even more ;) lol
 
I'm still here, just checking to see if anything is interesting. :)

Mostly hanging out in the Tablet/MID section with all these new cool froyo tablets coming out this fall that look interesting...

When gingerbread comes out, N1 forum will be back in business.

Another new member here, been waiting to see what rim were bringing out as long time bb user but been disappointed again, so moving over to android and nexus one bit like the earlier post from Sean in the uk. Looking forward to learning more about the phone and system, hope to be posting lots in these forums.
 
I'm a lurker. Finally getting an Android phone. I just can't decide. Nexus One, Desire or Desire Z (If I can get it in the USA). I'm too cheap to buy them at local prices. (Iceland)

Well, happy to see that you've finally signed up to AF :D Now you can post on all those threads you've read ;) I can imagine that it'd be quite expensive buying the phone in iceland vs. in the US. If you can get it cheaper, why not :D It's being a smart shopper ;)

I'm trying to be a member of the club. Been looking for an N1, but all of them that seem to pop up for sale locally seem to be the T-Mobile versions.

I'm currently using an iPhone 2g and am ready for an upgrade. Although WM7 is just around the corner, so I suppose I should see what phones AT&T is releasing in the press conference on the 11th. But I do wish I could get my hands on a N1.

Well they are basically the same phone hardware wise with some minor differences (unless you see optical/tack ball, noice cancelling mic etc as major). The thing to ask yourself, do you like Sense or Vanilla and how quick do you want your update :)

Don't listen to her. She's an undercover operative for Nexus One! Look at her profile, she gave it away by listing the N1 as her secret weapon! :D

Actually, I think the N1's a better choice, because they update it quicker and because you can always add a sense-type experience by rooting or purchasing certain apps.

Just my .02.

BTW, I'm a secret agent for the Motorola Droid X. :)
 
Yes... all this dilemma on updates, rooting, carrier locking and what not is maybe telling me that I just get the N1. I want a keyboard, but I can live without it. And the N1 geek factor is quite high. :)
I was settled on the G2, but I don't know about updates, since I will not be using it on t-mobile networks. OTOH, it runs vanilla Android so I *might* be able to get updates directly, just like the N1...

get the N1. it works, period. been through four android phones and it seems like all the manufactures do with their software overlay is create problems. got my N1 about 3 months ago after having a Vibrant for two weeks. that phone had a pile of issues.

there are no official ETAs on gingerbread, right? from what i read, sounds like some nice upgrades.
