im surprised n4zty hasnt chimed in yet. he found someone who is going to be sendiong a sim. hopefully signal will be on here in tampa area :)

Wow..its kinda crazy that Florida is Mpcs's biggest market and State with widest coverage, yet we're LAST when it comes to the BYOD adoption...I'm both annoyed and upset

Yea think about it when doing a important test u start off small then work ur way up. Tampa or Florida for that matter is a huge market. There's no telling how many engineers they have working non stop on those spectrum.

Ok great info to finally see the SG4 out on MetroPCS on the third of July :D. Too bad it wont come out in my market on that day :(

Just to ask the question. Any chance the Metro SG4 phones might pop up on ebay or would we in Florida have any chance of getting it during July by other sellers. Or do we Floridians have to wait until August regardless?

it will be like the us cellular sgs3, you can flash and it will work just break various things like mms/maybe data (diff apn) etc...

I live in Dallas tx. I've been on the metros byod for about a week now.
And I love it. I'm currently using an lg l9 I was previously using the lg spirit. The 4g is much faster. I can actually watch YouTube in hd without the video stopping, I'm also tethering using foxfi app. Works great! I was planing to use an s3 from tmobile I bought earlier but it turned out that the imei# was blacklisted. So watch out for that. Some people are shady.

Have you done a speed test? Curious to see the speeds.

Where did you buy your sim, a corporate store or shade tree metro guy? I got mine from shade tree and had nothing but issues. Had to switch back over to LG connect as not to get fired for nit getting work calls.

I assume by shade tree you mean an Authorized Dealer (non-corporate) store.

BYOD is one instance where I wouldn't play around with an Auth Dealer. I'd go WAY out of my way to get it and get it Activated at a Corporate store.

Metro has enough damn problems getting a phone activated correctly BEFORE BYOD.

Were I you, I would have suggested to them that they LEAVE your BYOD device hooked up for at least One More Month *on their dime* so they could use you in your BYOD area as a sounding board about tuning in the network or whatever they to do fix the transition problems. You already have your Connect so Metro would be getting Most of the benefit of having kept your BYOD on for awhile while they worked on things.

Hell I would trust myself to figure it out before I trust either.... but thats just me lol

But I doubt you have any more idea of Exactly What Metro does to activate a new BYOD account/phone/Sim that I do, which would be Squatola.

It has been my personal impression that any training the Auth dealer store clerks may get is up to THAT dealer/Store owner Vs a more assured training a clerk at a Corporate store might get. I have got to think that a Corporate store manager would have some better/faster contact with the Mothership than an owner of an Auth dealer. (This Is NOT to say there MAY BE SOME Auth dealers who may make sure their clerks are knowledgeable but it hasn't been my impression those clerks are as On The Ball as the Corporate store clerks.) Those Auth dealers seem to me also most likely to waffle on pricing and policies, more often to charge More/give the customer less than they would at a Corporate store.

At least in my area, the Corporate stores are always The First to get the new phones which tells me the are also most likely to be the first to get training materials.

Unless someone here will Say they are actually doing it in store themselves, there's not a damn soul here that has clue #1 as to what Metro is actually doing in store to activate a BYOD device/account. I would certainly assume those steps Are Not the same as they've been in the past.

For a new dance you go to who's learned it best and to me, that's a Corporate store.
