Metro PCS Moving Backwards with Phone Selection

Can someone please explain to me why it seems just as Metro was moving forward with phone selection starting with the Indulge, Ascend, Optimus, Admire, and the ESTEEM; they have chosen to start moving backwards with the Connect, Admire, Attain, Wildfire and all the other phones they have introduced this year? I mean after the ESTEEM it seems they blow their money (sorry if anyone was offended by that comment) and that's the end of it. Does anyone know if the are going to truly come out with something that will rival the ESTEEM? I'm I the only one that is willing to but up with sucky battery life to have a larger screen, HDMI, and notification lights? Metro has not come out with a better phone than the ESTEEM in my opinion and I'm wondering will they ever? :confused:
 
Like I previously posted several weeks ago they will get the sg3. The thing is that it might be a watered down version, so that it is affordable for most of us.

Very possible it will have bin'd chipset (wont clock as high) and less RAM n internel storage. But its such a beast it would still be good. Metro will have to get something good since Cricket got the iPhone. ;)
 
Don't get wrong, I'm not saying it's gonna suck jm just saying it will be more affordable for mostly everyone. From what I heard it's gonna be around the $400 range. Although It will take me a while for me to get it since this phone has been pretty darn good! Thanks to this awesome community!

Yeah all these rumors floating around-this new one is supposed to be out this month. They don't even tell the Metro Store owners up here-they just receive a promo package a few weeks prior to the phone being released. I was asking yesterday at a buds store:(
 
My friends dad owns several stores here in Dallas and according to his dad they had a super top secret meeting about the phone. :D

Yeah same here however let's see because they also talked about the dyle tv phone which they show back in january there were rumors as well that is the phone that is due next and that phone I don't think it impress anyone unless they are changing plans and release an s3 variant with maybe smaller screen or something gutted out let's see it should be interesting in the next couple of months they are feeling the heat from the competition unless they keep playing the I'm for sale game and just want to get bought by someone

Whatever they're planning, they need to make it soon if they want to stay afloat.
 
I would like to have a few higher end choices like an Optimus, a Gaxaxy Nexus, or S3 (but NOT a Galaxy Nexus Indulge or S3 Indulge lol). Something from HTC would be nice too. I hope they DON'T get the iPhone. They're overrated and the last thing I want is a bunch of iFans coming to Metro from other carriers and slowing down my 4G.

Actually I like my DX, Esteem, and the Connect better than the iphone.
 
the galaxy s3 is too expensive for metro i mean they have a price limit of $400 max to sell to its consumer ok lets say they give metro the phone with a POS 1500 mah battery do ya still think that is gonna bring the cost down? I Think Not! ok lets say they also take away alot of the ram to i dunno lets say 512mb of ram is that worth 100-200 hundred dollars cheaper? I Think Not. the only galaxy device i see us getting is the samsung galaxy s2 that was shown to have the dyle integrated tv tuner built into it. the specs are more or less the same as the esteem nothing amazing just a 1ghz cpu and more or less same ram just a tv tuner built into it. But!!! why has metro been hustling trying to gain more money rasing prices on phones and plans and what not????? perhaps the money was needed for a investment for somthing big that may or may not save metro's rep.............Ill close my statement with im gonna give benefit of the doubt about the s3 comming to metro but i can gurantee it will be 7-9 months after every1 has had it already or more!
 
What we can expect more is a galaxy nexus that will be a more realistic approach since it has been out since December and it has been on special lately so I do feel positive about us getting a nexus instead of an s3 anytime soon
 
imo from my observations in Boston from the people I know,not many people will dish out $300+ for a phone. I believe we are the elite few that would. But anyways I agree metro should release a on on par or even better than the Esteem
 
What determines what metro gets and what dosnt get is what their cellphone makers charge our carrier for a custom metro branded phone. now you will understand why i kinda am skeptic about the s3..... first of all T-mobile fought so hard to get it in the us and its like the latest hottest product out so far besides the nexus thats comming out with jellybean. i mean think about it we have all the big companies trying to get this suckah on their line of products for their consumers. we have T-mobile,AT&T,verizon,sprint and ya think metro is gonna be able to get in that buffet line with all the big boys any time soon????????? maybe i aint being told something that ya already know but if metro gets the s3 its gonna be like mad crazy people will leave other carriers just to have an s3 on metro and people already on metro are gonna want to upgrade fo-sho!!!
