MetroPCS anyone switch from Indulge to S3?

Pidasso

Newbie
just wondering if anyone who is on the MetroPCS unlimited $60 plan has upgraded from an Indulge or whatever phone to a S3. Did you get to stay on the same plan you had when you upgraded your phone? I noticed most of their new plans have data caps and talk about throttling if you go over.

Still trying to justify spending the money on the S3 (even though its awesome) if they try to make me switch to a newer plan that would definitely be a deal breaker.

Also does your S3 seem to get better 4g reception than your old phone? I am in So Cal and most places my Indulge works fine, except at home its a 4g dead spot...go one house either way or to a specific corner of my yard and 4g is great.

thanks

I would switch to any place if it means getting rid of the Indulge. That phone was complete garbage. I don't think you have to switch plans to buy the S3 though.

DOWNLOAD THIS PHONE INFO

From what I've seen, this is the only app that works for quickly getting into the menu required to change this on the S3. After installing and opening the app, select "Device information." Then scroll down to the first drop box. It should say LTE/CDMA/EvDo by default. Tap on it, and select "CDMA auto (PRL)." Hit the back button to exit out of the app in order to make sure it saved the setting change. This will put your phone into 3G-only mode.
