I'm making this thread for the sake of argument.... i want to see GSM BYOD speedtests in comparison to what speeds we already have on CDMA quality. i need to know if its worth the money to shell out a couple hundred for a GMS phone + lose my $55 unlmtd promo plan for supposedly better service and faster speeds

please turn on your GPS when doing your speedtest and post a screenshot of your speed and location.. also mention what phone you are using

GMS BYOD phones only

Hmm so the original metropcs customer gets 1mps average on 4g well the case for my family and friends, while byod gets this amazing speed? :( but now I am tempted to do byod instead lol kinda disappointed, what about you guys? And thanks for the post.

All of us with CDMA devices are running on metro LTE while all the GSM devices run through tmobiles

As I said before my hspa speed on tmo (before the lte rollout) has been many times faster then the lte speed on the lte metro phones.

This is a hspa screenshot, nexus 4 on tmoble, basically what the byod metro is.

Your definitely gonna get your money's worth especially here in Palm Beach, Broward & M-Dade... They also have some good plans with the spectrum here after the combine where most places won't be able to have

CDMA vs GSM is no contest

Although my LG Motion isn't a GSM device, it was running on T-Mobile's 4g network (my speed test server even said hosted by t mobile) when I was in Albuquerque, NM about 6 weeks ago, so I believe this can be included:

Those speeds are remarkable

So where are the BYOD speedtest. I thought there where more people on it.what is the average increase of speeds in densely populated areas like miami?

Since bringing my T-Mobile Galaxy S4 to MetroPCS, i usually would hit download speeds between 6 mbps to 9 mbsp. The speed has increased a little in the last few tests I've done. I went from a 3G to this one, so I don't have Metro 4G speeds to compare it to.

That's right, I'm as fast as Ricky Bobby

Also, Sony Xperia Z South Florida Region.

If you smell a delicious crispy smell after the race.... it ain't my tailpipe.... it's a little bit of shake... and then bake, shake n bake!

Once it came to my area I instantly bought a Optimus G off of craigslist.

The most I've gotten in the Miami Lakes / Miramar area has been 18mbs down, and I bought the s3 directly at the store. Maybe the signal isn't as strong out west over here, but I haven't seen this kind of speed on my phone just yet.
