Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Need help removing metroPCS boot logo on galaxy s3

system/media/startupanimation.qmg

i dont recall if thats the exact filename but it will have some start up name and be a qmg file, remove it and you remove the bootanimation :)

the easiest way I've done it is with Romtoolbox just don't flash the tablet ones. remember to back up before doing this you can end up with a soft brick..good luck

I believe that only works if the rom you're on was built with support for flashing custom bootanimations. Not sure what would happen if you're on stock. If that's the case Shabby has the right idea.

on stock firmware its not easy as just replacing the qmg files and replacing it with a bootanimation zip there two files in system that need to be renamed in order to make stock firmware use custom zip boot animation i posted a tut on here and i believe it was on nuttmeg's boot animation thread.

Edit yep i found it. anyways im not gonna merge this thread with the other one since you mentioned removing the boot animation and not replacing it.

but just incase u do want to replace it with a custom boot animation follow these steps. but before trying it out do a backup in recovery just incase!

also if u meant the splash screen with samsung's logo thats a bunch of files and i personally wouldnt mess with that.
