No porting necessary. If it's usc all you gotta do is switch out the apn and edit the buildprop. Although I don't see the why you would...

All those tablet ui's are useless on our screen.

I dont like all that Tablet UI crap either. PA is a good rom but I'm AOKP for life. They just always have 10x the customization options than all the other ROMs and it's stuff that I actually care about. Just my 2 cents.

Yup. They need to just give that up already. Or go buy a tablet. Lol
 
You can grab the apn file from cm10.1. It's located in the system/etc folder. The buildprop you will have to edit yourself. Pretty easy, use a buildprop editor or text editor will work too. Change everything you see that has usc model to metro's. (d2usc to d2mtr, sch-R530U to sch-R530M, us. Cellular to metropcs).

This will only work for usc roms.

If you weren't able to install before any modifications then it is the rom. Could be a bad download or maybe you downloaded the wrong rom?

Goodness rom is a heavily modified tw rom. It has many tweaks and mods added to it. It is also heavily themed.

Metropolis is pretty close to stock. There are a whopping two mods for it. :) and two themes...well...one and a half themes. :p

I use Metropolis mainly because i have themes that i update. As a second choice i like Chemistry v6 too. Its like goodness, without the themed stuff.
