Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Question about a s3 reported stolen

I reported my s3 stolen and got replacement turns out someone iknow took it so i have it back. I have no use for it if its reported stolen and someone trys to connect it will it ahow up stolen? Or if i take it to one of those cellphone recycling places will they know will i get in trouble even tho its mine

you paid the costs already, you cant use it on metro anymore but it could be used as a music player wifi only device
