I am having a similar issue except that I get the black screen only when I am using the front facing camera. It actually restarts my phone after the black screen.

On the latest nightlies, open Messaging and go to settings. Under "Text (SMS) Messages", uncheck Split SMS and Multi-part SMS. Then hit Multi-part SMS size and set the app to convert to MMS after 1 segment.
 
I've been running this ROM for the past 2 months and its been perfect in Every way. Sure I been flashing other ROMs but I always come back to Carbon after a day or 2. Thanks for keeping us updated!:thumbup:

i really like carbon. didnt think it would be good at first but tried it out one day a while back and loved it. been using it since but recently i switched to metropolis.
One big reason was that mms was so weird. I'm not sure if its an aosp thing or a carbon thing but whenever i was sent a picture, i would have to go through a whole mess to get the mms to load. Same situation to send it, its a mess. I like to toggle autoretrive off (maybe that is why but i dont think so).
On metropolis i never have this problem, mms is flawless and i was wondering if i could get some opinions or advice.

i really want to go back to carbon and im gonna give this latest nightly a shot. I wanna thank the op for a really professional attitude and for supplying us our outstanding carbon ROM.

A nice feature to add would be when you use halo and you open a app with it it would be nice if you could reasize it not complaining about the rom i love it
 
this is going to be my first time using Carbon Rom and I just want to know which version I should download. I want one that works correctly and all the features work correctly as well. Soooo give me yalls opinion ?

Depends on what you want. If you go with the nightly, you get all the greatest and latest features from the dev, but it can have a couple bugs from time to time, usually its still great and stable. If you go with the release, then I guess that's the most stable version there is with hardly any bugs, and you don't need to update the ROM everyday like you would do with a nightly.

which one would you choose ? and which ones are the latest ones ? im soo confused lol
 
OK so I can't get the navbar or the statusbar transparent for the life of me. Tried every setting I could see in the settings. Can anyone help me out with this? I found transparency settings but doesn't seem to do anything.
