Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] vibration intensity/haptic feedback

Actually I want the soft key vibration to be soft and intense..
I have changed the vibration intensity, but no such feel.. Vibration is too annoying produced by the soft buttons..
In other devices like galaxy s, when I touch the soft buttons, vibration feel like (ding, ding)
But in s2,vibration feel like (gir, gir)
Even in my friend 's2 (ding).. But I don't know how did he change, he is not telling the secret..
Please please help me out

If you are running Franco, Faux or Trinity kernels you can get the kernels app for each one and they all allow global haptic feedback adjustment. You can play around with that to see if it fits your liking. Trinity kernels app also allows for the vibrations "width" width adjustment.

Only other option I know of is to go in and change the value for the haptic feedback in an xml in the framework-res.apk.

Are you turning the sound off within the actual messaging app and not within the phone's sound settings?
