Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] vibration intensity/haptic feedback

mazillion

Newbie
i've looked all over, is there a way lower the vibration intensity on notifications and hapic feedback on baked blackbeans? i've used cm10,aokp and currently baked blackbeans, and as far as i can tell there is no way to adjust it. is there a fix or solution somewhere? or even a play store app? or is it just not supported flashed on this kernel(or is it kernel? not sure- still new to all this)?

it seems like default is max intensity, i really like haptic feedback but max is such overkill when pressing the menu button. and when my phone vibrates on a desk it's practically louder than my ringtone. i mean, whats the point of vibrate if everyone can still hear it clearly? it was really awkward when it went off in class... :flute:

just to be clear i don't want to turn it off entirely, i'm aware that much is possible

thanks guys

I have the haptic feedback turned off and the intensity set to 0. but every time i receive a call or snooze the alarm or even use multi window or change home screen icons it vibrates.
I'm really annoyed by this i am about ready to throw my phone out the window because of this please help!!!!!!

Same here. Especially when I'm on the phone and notifications start buzzing in my ear. I turned all notifications off, intensity is 0, haptic feedback unchecked, auto haptic off.

This seemed to work.

I'm on cm10.1 and it lets you turn off or turn down vibration intensity for each notifications. Don't forget that each apps have there own settings also. If it vibrates when you get an email go into email settings by hitting the menu key in the email app. If during a text then do the same in your text app. Calender, alarm, etc...

all vibration intensity is set to 0 and all h'feedback is turned off and it does not vibrate when i get emails or messages but when i edit the home screen or use multi-window or when I reject or accept a call or when i stop or snooze the alarm. and i have checked every possible setting. I know its not that. Something is wrong with the firmware.

I got bored one day and wanted to change the global vibrate for my Nexus. Meaning the vibrate that comes when you touch soft keys, apps, etc....

I actually went into one of the system files and changed it but ill be damned if I can remember how I did it.

However, there is a kernel that allows you to adjust global haptic vibration settings. It's either Trinity or Faux and its available through their app. That is if either on of those kernels are available for yall.

If anyone is still interested in changing the vibration intensity.

I like a strong vibrate across the phone and the N4 has a medium/light haptic so i just went back in and changed it. Took me forever to dig through Google to find out cause I couldn't damn remember how to do it. lol. It's easy though if someone wants to do it. No smali, just a single XML that's edited.

Dude.. How do I change global Haptic vibrate settings??.. Pls guide me.. I hate the soft key vibration in my s2..Whereas the same s2 of my friend has cool touch on vibration.. But he is not telling the secret.. Please please please tell me

This is simple.. I know this..
I think you did not get my question..
I want the vibration effect to be change..

You didn't say it was the "style" of the vibrate until your third post so of course no one got "your question". ;)

Describe what you want before hand and the confusion can be eliminated.

So what do you want your vibrate function to do? Harder, softer, Morse code style?
